  • Genius! Using longer edges to increase circular motion to incorporate for the fact that it doesn't always have the same inner edge distance! It's brilliant!

  • adrianiredale, i have watched your videos for a while and i love them. when i seen this video, it reminded me of another channel i subscribe to called MatthiasWandel. he deals primarily with wood and uses many gears from wood to create many tools from wood and other interesting machines

  • impressed...

  • I always like looking at gears that challenge the norm.

( Well what is normal?! errrr enough of that thought, because I aint in that catagory. )

what doesn't look like it should work but does.

    Cool vid as always.

    Drew.

  • what are they made of?

looks like it would never turn.

    love this kind of stuff!!

  • @psychodelicdragon : The gears are hand-cut from ordinary hardware ply using a glued on paper template from plans from Clayton Boyer (see web site in the video details)

  • You should make a clock out of these!

  • @mangoismycat : Yes - in theory it would be possible. It would be a challenge to get appropriate ratios, especially with small pinion wheels. I wouldn't have the patience.
