I think you're drawing a wrong conclusion from the social psych research. Milgram and others say that it's not the PERSON, it's the SITUATION. There are no evil people, no heroes; just plain old humans. Fix the situation, punish the situation-makers. I think the average soldier in the military is a pretty average human being.
NO, ponerologists say THEY ARE BORN WITHOUT A CONSCIENCE. Morality must come from within the individual; when the person can't do this because he has no moral compass THEN society must have rules and punishments to keep the evil from taking over and/or creating crimes/wars
I wouldn't say that 65% of the population is immoral. It's just that most of us are willing to obey authority over standing up for our moral conscience. I suppose it depends on how you define a moral person.
But yeah. If we conducted the Milgram experiment on military personnel, I wouldn't be surprised to see a higher percentage of men willing to shock the learner more than 450 volts.
Well, THAT was certainly uninspiring. The internet is full of "I dare you to eat it" videos, but a new low has been reached when a US military serviceman --- a uniformed defender and representative of the United States of Amaerica --- videotapes himself eating candy taken from someone he killed. Long-expired candy, at that (and he STILL eats it?!).
Are these guys huffing Cosmoline, or are they just naturally stupid?
This video shows that weak youth in our military lacking a CONSCIENCE should NOT be sent overseas to do sub-national conflicts. We need an older adult SNC stability corps.
simply American bs
