@CameronYousef depends which part :as stories of shanameh usually happned i khrasan,mazandaran,tajikestan no even today most peaple there are very white,specially mazandaran which are 90% have coloured eyes(green,blue) if you mean copaire to south iran:hormozgan,bushehr,khuzest­an yes thses charechters look whiter ,while if you read ferdosi non of the chrachter of ferdosi are form those regions.

yes if you read historical books from xephone,herodotus,...you see they explain iranian as white skin even whiter than ancient greeks .also scythians explain as all having red haire,deep blue eyes.rostam was an iranian scythian(sistani).

i am from shandiz village khorasan prov of iran which alo this book is from khorasan,if u see in shandiz bc it s behind mountains peaple 80% have red haire and freckes .my family and me too.

@sspersian I'm actually born in America. My father is Iranian from Tehran (born in Tabriz) and my mother is American of Irish descent. So naturally, I look more white. But most of my Iranian family has black hair and kind of darker skin. My descendents are mainly Zoroastrian and so is my Grandmother. Nobody ever believes I'm Iranian when I tell them lol. If I speak farsi to them they say "how did you learn farsi?"

1)zorastrian is not race its religion :many zorastrian are indian origin.even they are african zorastrian.

2)how naturaly you look more white ,bc ur half irish!?they are may iranian who look may whiter than many irish.for exaple colin frow is irish he looks darker than bahram radan who is iranian/persian.it depends on family.

modern iranian vary diffrnet coloures:african,indian,arabic­,white(even diffrnet white from german look to italian look/dark white),mongolid look,...........

I know that. But I'm just saying that the white-looking Iranians are a minority compared to the darker Iranians.

modern iranian are mix race(white ,mongol,black,arabs,..........­....)expet isolated areas like caspian sea provinces,..which they look 100% white(gilak,mazani)which also speak oldest iranian dilect.

ancient iranian race was pure white and they were not from iran they came to iran from central asia 3000 years back:they were thses tribe:persian,parthian,scythia­ns,......and thses stories are about those iranian not modern iranian.

my rigion was 100% isolated .

if you check village iranians specialy in gilan,mazandaran,luristan,bakh­tiyari,khorasan, you found moslty white whith hair from red,blond,brown,eyes green/blue.

according to genetic reaserch :pamiri tah=jik have the higet iranic DNA marker whith 75% ,and pamiri are 98% green/blue eyes,whith hgest light haire population after north europe.

black haire is only from mongolid race,even africanand indians have brown haire.

while oly mongolid race:mongol,japaneese,chineese have shiny black haire.so ur family may have mogolid blood not pure iranian race although iranian citizen.

iranian citizen or iranian rcae is 2 diffrent things.
