EEOC: Woodman’s to pay $35K to settle bias chargeBy ASSOCIATED PRESS Friday, August 12, 2011 - 3:36 p.m. EMAIL RSS SHARE ADVERTISEMENT BELOIT, Wis. (AP) — A federal agency says a Wisconsin-based grocery store has agreed to pay a former employee $35,000 to settle allegations of disability bias.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission had filed a lawsuit against Woodman’s Food Markets. The EEOC says Kimberly McMillan-Goodwin was fired from a Woodman’s store in Beloit last year because of a back condition that prevented her from lifting more than 10 pounds. The agency says the restriction didn’t interfere with the woman’s work for years, but that the company eventually fired her.

MILWAUKEE — The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a federal lawsuit against Woodman's Food Markets Inc.
The EEOC alleges that Woodman's fired Arianna Goodwin in January 2008 after an assistant store manager at one of its Madison stores asked her if she was pregnant. The manager then allegedly told her he would have to fire her or she could quit and reapply after giving birth.
Woodman is heading right into a shit storm in IL! He is going up against JEWEL, a chain that is much more powerful than Woodman, and his paper towels.
we own jewel,who wants to pay 2 times as much for groceries when they can go 5 minutes down the road and pay half!? Jewel doesn't scare us..we scare jewel.
@mrhamtyler1 Am I a Moron.? No..If i was giving guys blowjobs for $5 a pop like you..I'd be a moron..I hear you're great..you should charge$6...fukin loser. Get a job assclown..Tell your wife to stop calling me.

This is hilarious... these jerkoffs want to stay at our employee owned stores,and still be union because of job security..??? How come my friends that are all union tradesman are all out of a job for the last 2 yrs?? What kinda security is that. We don't want that union bullshit at our stores, were EMPLOYEE OWNED AND PROUD OF IT!! The union can go fuck itself and collect unemployment. People who work hard and show up to work on time don't need a union to protect themselves...#33 rules
i work for woodmans the stores that are not in the union are doing the best and to say phil is a fat cat is ridiculous he takes a normal ceo salery and gives the rest back to his employees and for the woodys driver who got fired he would show up at are store with pallets dumped all over the truck get the union out of woodmans
Yeah, you fuckers were so for continuing unionizing Woodmans that when I tried e mailing you or calling you you ignored me. Then, when you GAVE UP the fight you didn't bother to contact any of us in Madison.
I work at Woodman's #22 in Appleton. The only Woodman's that has the union. So your saying if the Appleton Woodman's union goes out it will affect the one in Janesville and other Woodman's on raises and insureance and stuff?
Good video! Nice to see ordinary folks speaking so eloquently about the attacks against them by corporate entities. And we all need to realize that it is unions and union workers who are fighting for decent wages and benefits for all of us.
Hey! I thought Woodman's was supposed to be the good guys? We really need to get behind the workers and their union here...I don't think we can afford to lose any more decent jobs.

2010
The EEOC filed suit Tuesday, September 21, 2010 after attempting to reach a settlement out of court.
The agency seeks compensatory and punitive damages, along with barring future discrimination. A jury would decide the damages.
