  • @bodiloto, hahahaha!

  • Big woman, but pretty, youthful sounding voice with clear high notes that do not offend the ear or the senses. Still one of the best.

  • Obviously, you are not a fan of Caballe.

Very disrepectful of this great artist. I am assuming you can do better....

  • @nicolasfurrikane negli ultimi 50 anni Corelli,Nicolov e Giacomini erano i migliori Calaf.

Ma il Calaf del mio cuore si chiama.................................. Miguel Fleta.

Come sempre Pavarotti ben amplificato... ))))))))))))))))

  • La Turner, la Cigna, la Nilsson, la Udovich, la Jones, la Dimitrova, la Marton ...

Merli, Corelli, Nikolov, Barioni, Bartolini, Bonisolli, Cecchele, Giacomini, Martinucci ...

  • IN QUESTA REGGIA DOVE REGNAVA LUCILLA UDOVICH.

  • Caballe's voice might be a little too light for this role but she has a very big voice so she could cover the orchestra;and.her breath control is amazing..listening to her Turandot, I realize that I don't miss the real dramatic one....

  • mmm I think Caballé has not the correct voice for this aria. I mean, she's way too light. Anyway, Pavarotti is too lyric, so who care right now about sub types of voices. Th version's good, maybe a little slow, but is still very enjoyable.

Me encanta.

  • @toni14744 totalmente de acuerdo, impresionantes!!

  • Do you people really like Caballe as Turandot ? I adore Caballe but not as Turandot. Her voice is too light! She doesn't scare nobody! I love those intense, electrifying Turandots - Nilsson, Dimitrova. Caballe did not have it in her to sing a good Turandot. Her only successful foray into heavy soprano singing was Salome.

  • Nilsson is not so terryfing.

  • Caballe tells Turandots old legend very strongly. She can make feel, that the princess has a monomania. Pavarotti with Gli emigni sono tre brings a new idea in her life. Their high Cs are great. Remind Nilsson and Corelli! The two relatively lighter voice fits each other perfect. And don't forget: Chailly leads the orchestra excellent!

  • marokt has to check her piano, she didn't notice the San Francisco Turandot is slowered down a whole tone, Caballe sings Bflat isntead of C and in spite of that her high notes are horrible squally and screamed and has no power

  • In fact you are incorrect. I don't really care what you think about the singing but they are definitely high B's...as written with High C at the end when she and Pav are singing. All in key as written. Where do you get your information that the keys were lowered. I very diligently checked the notes on my piano...several times

  • @vergoti20 I was there and she had plenty of power - it's a matter of being able to focus the sound. She cut right through the orchestra. Your pitch is off - the key has not been altered nor were the high notes "horrible squally", whatever that means.

  • What's that picutre got to do with this recording?

  • Thank you for this art, it is so wonderful, Monserrat Caballe and Luciano Pavarotti, two wonderful voices. I've heard some shots, where the two sing together. Thank you very much for this great clip

  • beautiful, it moved me into tears...

this rendition is just as awesome as Nilsson and the others did...

    tnx for posting...

  • If you think that a Turandot rendition, live on stage, with Pavarotti and Caballé at their best of their voices is boring, I think you are not an opera lovers, not much...

  • I find them togerther many times a bit boring, but in this perf they are very good. The divina Cabellé sounds here cruel and tough.

  • @TurandotFanatic I would have donated my kidney to be there and sit back to listen to this tresure. I envy those lucky one who were there. God me this is out of this world, Caballe + Pavarotti in Turandot.
