  • @redneck7095

It's typical of a redneck to resort to vulgarity when they have nothing better to say.

  • i have a somewhat stupid question... for the overly modest foreigner, is it allowed for one to bathe in an onsen whilst wearing a bathing suit?!

  • @kmah88 sorry if this is late, but I don't believe so. Maybe they have certain ones, but from all that I've read about it, bathing suits aren't allowed. Of course, I haven't been in Japan yet, so I don't know. I can guess in certain onsens, the level of minerals in the water are different and could affect clothing/towels if they were put in (I know that's not the explanation, but it's a possible reason not to do it). I hope my input was helpful :P

  • Middle of nowhere, but still theres a vending machine. :P

  • Is life in Tokyo expensive? My friend was there about 8 years ago and he told me everything real estate to basic grocery shopping. Do people get paid more over there?

  • lol little come river...hahahaha

  • little cum river. thats what she said.

  • Soooo...

    1. Thanks for the nod to Willie (Nelson that is).

    2. Between the words "salty joy" and "little come river," I'm a bit concerned!

    3. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog (Via Audri aka discountsausage, who I also just love).

  • Love your videos!Even the non FYI videos have been very informative and have confirmed my desire to be a gaijin living in Japan in the near future, hopefully after I finish my BS. I'm planning to visit summer of 09,I've been looking into a study abroad program at Temple University.

  • HAHAHAHAHA feild hockey ne! Oi oi oi do people in nikko have different accents to tokyoites desuka?

  • Cooney, thanks for reminding me that I need to get out to the countryside. I've spent too many hectic weekends in Tokyo recently myself. Did you seriously eat all that meat by yourself? Always a fan...

  • Marry me, yes? :3

  • Gotta love the swish sound effect you made panning the camera from the wilderness to the frog, classic.

  • Did you write a column on a free magazine??

  • Great vid, as always. The dance in the beginning kinda spooked me at first, but then I burst out laughing. Seems like a great place to go and calm down from a hectic city life. That onsen, despite the (in my opinion) fishy name, seems wonderful. Wish i could try one someday. I hope you don't mind me quoting you when you discovered the frog, gonna put it in my sig on different forums, just wonderful. Keep it up and take care!

  • so it's kinda like a taxi system, but not as expensive of course

    nice idea

  • sweet! I'd like to pay a visit myself

  • I like your videos when you dont try too hard to make us laugh, but the information is there and is generally correct. And as always, good music.

  • wouldnt call it country, more like the woods equilavent to a camping trip or something like that.

  • Hence all his honors, subscribers and pageviews, right?

    Idiot.

  • Nice, my family just had a BBQ today, which is of course a fairly typical thing here in Southern California. Excellent video Cooney; loved the editing with the nature shots.

  • Cooney!

I get so excited every time I get an email saying youve posted a video. I hope you have as much fun making them as I do watching them!

  • Kev, didn't know you are arsonist ha ha..

Love the country side of japan!

    lovley vid!

  • whoa that bed with a view was so nice i wish i could get away to a place like that for a while =D

  • for adults in australia busses are 3 dollars, for students 1.50 dollars, for a trip about 300 km, 20 bucks =P

  • Looks like a blast. I could really use a getaway like that... Especially the BBQ part.

  • Lol Love your vids man, "littel come River"...well you did say there were naked oler men in there lol.

  • lol I Lived there for a year, there's some really cool stuff in Tokyo but I can't stand the people.

  • Frog...you want something to drink? Sweet!

  • 200 yen for a bus ticket? That's like £1. My bus fare to uni (20 min trip) costs me £5.50. I call shenanigans.

  • I get train and for my 30 min ride its £7.70 a day :o

  • Why don't you drive a car in Japan, Cooney san?

  • I don't know how much you like the outdoors Cooney, but you should seriously look into climbing mount Fujiyama. It seems to be a big tourist spot and I think a video of that would be sweet.

Keep up the good work man!

  • As per usual, a great vid Mr. Cooney:) I'd love to crawl off into the Japanese countryside for a few days. I did last in June, but there were about 100 screaming school kids along for the rid as well....not so peaceful!

Love that little froggy at the end.

  • What a beautiful spot. I'm going! How do you make reservations for the cabins?

  • love this video, awesome job!

  • that looked like fun . i wanna go to something like that someday .

  • Looks like a cool area.. I have been to Nikko several times.. but not to the cabins.. how were the skeeters up there... Nice Vid!

  • aww im sure that trip would have been a lot more fun if someone were with you! you know, just so you could have some company...but i guess you're used to it since you live by yourself.

  • MEAT! a mans meal...

  • lol statues of dead old people

  • Omg that truck was so small!! Looks like a nice place to get away for a little while. Nice bath place and that you got to by yourself. So relaxing I bet! LOL they even have a vending machine in the middle of nowhere. LOL only in Japan! Tehe. That frog is so tiny. Looks like you had such a nice time there. How much would that be in US dollars for the day and do they rent them out for a weekend etc?

  • What song is that at 3:33? It sounds badass

  • Sorry, I kind of boggled at the amount of food you had in that fridge. Dude, you must have the highest metabolism on the planet, next to my son! That or you had invisible guests!!

Glad you got a bit of a breather, even if just one night. And what is it with men and fire?? Remind me to tell you about our landlord's unintentional imitation of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. It was seven years ago... I"m sure his eyebrows have grown back by NOW... right?

  • yeah you need to get away from the big city every once in a while just to keep your sanity. so how was the grilled meat, you should have shown it and you eating it, yummy. now i am hungry for bbq and beer and it is morning. oh what the hell a po boy brisket sandwich and a bud lite for breakfast won't be the 1st time. you rock woodsman, you rock...sincerely charlie

  • you are the woodsman, you rock... ok thats how forest fires start...lol...did you see their equivalent of smokey bear? how was your b-day, thanks again for showing this material it lets me travel with you thru the internet.

  • I'm wondering how you pickle cucumbers. I asked a bunch of people when I was in Japan last and they were really vague about what you marinate it in.

  • He hee, the little frog was all the way up there to recommend a beverage for you!

  • I enjoyed that^^ Ive been to Nikko, but maybe it was a different Nikko. Mine had tons of temples and shrines.

  • What kind of job do you do in Japan? i think you should consider a career in film if you havent already...you'd be a good director

  • grate to see the japanese country side nice and 8:19 you look like a devil dude XD

  • Kev, what if you were short of yen and literally didn't have enough? Episode of cops?

  • jajajaja! good one

  • Sorry if I missed this in your video, but what is "schvitz"? (Sounds Yiddish). Is that "bath"?

  • You should be our new American Movie Announcer Guy, since our last one died :/

Great Video dude, plan on going to tokyo in the summer 09

  • I miss the vending machines in the middle of now where :(

  • the better question is why is there a vending machine in the middle of nowhere?

  • HILARIOUS, glad you had fun :)

  • haha lol at the vending frog, the life in the country eh

  • LOL that is awesome

  • Way to represent USA and grillin a feast!

  • So the bus system is like American toll booths.

  • Great Vlog Kevin. Nikko is a nice place to visit. That winding mountain road going up to that famous temple is pretty wild. I told the bus driver "great driving" when we got there.

Enjoyed your video as always. Can't wait until the next one

  • Nice video, but you need a girl!

  • I googled for 'Okorogawa (Little Come River).' It is said that the name was taken from some 13th century Japanese poetry which described this village as 'a place where a small river runs thru'.

  • frogs ftw :)

I love your vids. keep em chics clean plz

  • I like the countryside. It reminds me of my hometown. I would swim if there was nobody except me in the onsen. I dont eat meats much, but I wanted to see grilled meats ready to eat. I, with malnutrition, need to be satisfied with my appetite visually.

  • mate love the vids but yeh i think maybe some more companionship might be in order

  • that is so where I live all the time. :)

Except that the nearest big city is Hiroshima, not Tokyo, and it's 3.5 hours away.

And I'm curious - do people send you emails asking you to dance in your vids? Do people want to see your skinny ass gyrating across screen?? :P

    Great vid as always!

  • I just pictured that truck next to a big 18 wheeler...

    cute frog too ^^

  • Dude!!

you bought a f*cking camera into an onsen!!

    NOOOOOOOOOO!

    very bad!

You must relinquish your gaijin card for that one.

  • really nice vid. nikko looks beautiful. did you see any osarusans?

  • thanks for the vids, awesome once more ^^ Got the holiday feeling just watching it, love the music you use in the background, keep doing your thing!

  • Cooney where are all your nice Japanese chics? Lets see some more of the native Nihonjin friends too~... no more Tokyo Sam & dudes. =).

  • trees!
