The Afghan stitch ALWAYS curls o the bottom because the stitches on top of the foundation chain are heavy. The back always looks that way also. so you actually DIDN'T fail

that is gorgeous. i have done Tunisian too, and mine always curls. i don't know how to stop it. i would steam iron afterwards.. but it still curls back eventually. but this is a beautiful piece you have going!

you could be right that the yarn is thinner but it could also be that you moved one stitch too far when starting otherwise it looks nice, did you ever finish it?

to stop the curling I read other places that you do the Tunisian Purl either after the first row or after the foundation row. Hope this helps... if you ever decide to re-try this pattern.

(cont. from previous post) Try the honeycomb stitch in two colors. The back doesn't look like the front, but it still looks good. I also agree that I was disappointed in the cutting of the thread. Why didn't she just continue with a double ended crochet hook, then you wouldn't need to cut the yarn. Steady as she goes. You have a good hand.

I agree with the others, your crichet looks great. I think you are right that the yellow may be a lightere weight yarn and that would change your gague. The back of tunisian doesn't always look well. I understand your desire to have it look nice on both sides, especially for a scarf. (cont. in next post)

Tunisian crochet always curls. You would need to block it after you're done with it to get rid of the curl. That being said, it looks beautiful.

Great job on that ! Too help you like it better I suggest 1.) how about adding a fleece backing to it. 2.) to avoid the rolled up edge how about starting off with a picot hem in either reg. crochet or knitting for a few rows than change over to Afghan Stitch Tunisian. I have seen many blankets that are done in multiple techniques and it really is cool. In Tunisian also has many other stitches available to learn that you could use for the combination beginning stitches to avoid rolling.

I think its a great job that you done on your scarf. Tunisian stitch is like stockinette stitch in knitting, the bottom will curl always. I may have a tip for you in the future, I thought about it as I was designing my own projects. I will let you know if it works out. Keep up the good work and don't beat your self in the bush.

You could add some fringe to the ends to weigh down the curl, or maybe you could make another scarf and sew it to the back side of the first (wrong side to wrong side) so you would have a reversible scarf !?

@Songbirde01 i thought about making two and putting them back to back but thats to much. plus i realized that the scarf looks extra girly and im a little rough around the edges...lol the scarf was suppose to be for my self. i also thout about taking the shells out and just using the afghan.. we shall see how it turns out
