The sigma is a great gun, under $300 with 4 high cap. mags you cant beat it. Is the trigger heavy yes its DAO what do you expect? The trigger has a nice constant pull breaks clean with no stacking.
To all the guys crying about the heavy trigger you need to grow a pair, my 12 year old daughter can shoot the 9VE all day long.
i own one and like you said it is not the best but a hecka of a deal! ive shot it acouple times and it worked well. not too heavy and not too much kick. my cuz's sig was faster but accuracy was the same. So screw any of you who try to critizize it!
At some point I'll add a Glock to my collection. I find that they shoot somewhat differently due to the slightly higher axis of the barrel on the frame, but nothing training and trigger time can't fix.
At the time I got the Sigma I just couldn't afford the $600 price for the Glock that I would have chosen, so I went with the Sigma. To this day I still believe that I got a heck of a bargain in the process. With the Sigma you just get a lot of gun for the money. =)
Sorry for the late reply. I got mine for about $300 with taxes, but that was at the end of '08, so with the price going up, I think it's a fair price.
You're right about the trigger. At this point I've shot quite a few guns, with different kinds of triggers, and it's really not that bad. From practical experience at the range with different people shooting my Sigma, I know some can't really deal with the heavy trigger (My sister-in-law comes to mind). If that's the case, they can pick another excellent firearm that suits THEM. =)
Haven't thought about it in terms of comparison with a revolver, but that's a good point. Either way, I'm sure that if a self-defense issue comes up, an eight pound pull on the trigger is going to not be an issue compared to a four pound pull. I'm pretty sure I'll be so much on adrenaline mode that it's a non-issue.
..is it that bad.???...Im goin to pick this gun up on monday...just need a little insight . Since I Had no practice with shooting guns at all...should this be my first gun or should i consider buying something else regarding that I keep hearing the trigger pull is that bad.

Couple things.. first, good review. I myself am looking at getting a Sigma 9mm come this July. Second, try not to flag the camera! A little unsettling for the viewers, lol. Third, and no offense, try a tabletop style review. It allows people to focus more on the firearm.
I think you'll like it. About the only thing I'd change would be to get the .40 S&W version, since locally .40 is now far more available and cheaper than 9MM, oddly enough.
Sorry about the cam, I haven't done many videos. I'll keep that in mind. =)
I think I'll try a tabletop style, but I'll need to wait until I get a stand alone video recording device. I'm simply using the built-in web cam on the lid of my laptop, and it's not movable. =/
@jomomma193 come on what are you scarred the sigma is gonna go off and come threw your computer screen??? Seriously, DON'T TALK SHIT about ppl's vid's ,if you can do better, then go do it. If your just gonna tell ppl what to do and how to do their OWN vid's, this is the only feedback ur gonna get. Take the advice and stop trolling on ppl's vid's.....
Thanks dude. Your review sold me. Just ordered mine from Buds. Take care.

The trigger is not that bad, it is stiff, but not as bad as it is made out.

This was my first pistol as well, and I didn't mind it at all. If you can rent it at the range, give it a go and see if it works for you. =)
