Hey Solarcat... well rigging twin turbines cost a little more than equivelent gas power from a top shop.. then add the debug, fixing something every time you run them hard etc... I run a quad 1000hp 50' Nor-Tech mono for a client.. it's always in the shop... twin turbines would have cost a lot less over the last 3 years.
Well I was asking about fuel consumption but you've answered that already in that other video. Quad 1000hp gas engines in a V bottom wow that was kinda stupid eh? I bet Trond had to rig extra fuel tanks.
He probly has the fastest 50V Nortech has ever built. Larry Jones(Masquerade)has quad 650s he says he runs aroung 90.
The quad 50V is a lot of fun... we cruise 80 to 90 and run up to 110 for a few minutes at a time. She's spec'ed at 135mph but we spent over a year making her reliable and max out at 120 with full fuel and 4 people... not bad for a very heavy luxury vessel.
Oh.. we also rigged a new Nor-Tech 50V with twin turbines... Trond is still doing the final touches so she missed going to Europe this summer. I haven't seen her run yet but she's really good looking... sea trials soon :)

Tell us how Alvin. The big negative about turbines, aside from their cost, has been excessive fuel consumption.
