Oh I do really really wish I could go!! If I had the money i'd be down there for sure! I know I find that amazing that the strength and feeling the devotees must have there. Waiting for Gurudev for so long!! Finally Gurudev coming- I can just imagine the excitement and the amazing feeling there!!! I wish I could be there!

what is vyaspuja? i know what a puja is considering i am a hindu brahmin and my last name is vyas .. but i never heard of vyaspuja??

The origin of Vyaspuja stems from Dwaipana Veda Vyas himself who is the author of the Vedas and of Srimad Bhagavatam. It was originally a celebration of his birthday. It has been an ancient tradition in this parampara, (disciplic succession) to also worship the qualified guru who is equally qualified as Vyasdev and who is in his parampara.

Similarly, Vyasasan is the honorable seat given to a guru who is in the parampara of Vyasdev and is also equally as qualified as Vyasdev himself.

@suchandradasi .. thanks a lot for the explanation. btw the real word is "ved" and not "veda" .. about 99% of the world writes it as "veda" but thats not correct considering there is no word in sanskrit language as "veda" its "ved" ... internet has spoiled my last name also we are "vyas" but now if you goto wikipedia it describes "vyasa" instead of "vyas" and thats a shame because then most people begin to stress on "a" at the end and the whole real pronunciation is ruined, its a shame.
