Religion emerged from the cowardly human need to simplfy existence and has gradualy transformed into a destructive cancer in the mind of the thinking man accept your nature wich is power-hungry and burn the parasites of modern society.
I used to have another version of this masterpiece, but it didn't started like this one, anyone knows an alternative "Crusaders"? This one is very good but the other I used to have was even better, the start was improved
@ivaflimkien this track is full of strong and brutality as europen knights. I see them traveling on their horses with desire to get Jerusalem free from muslims. It is like picture :D
@ModerSverige you know, it is too complicated to understand, but you have to realize the fact, that in the time of crusades, the only victory is, when your enemy is dead. As in the Christian ranks, as well as Muslim. I know, it isn´t the best way how to solve problems, but for them it was glory in thet them....
@mtavares92 so you dont think that if the world was atheist, it would still be divided between nazi atheists, communist atheists, liberal atheists? you think war and division between humans would end without any religion? no offence, but that reasoning doesnt make any sense.
@mtavares92 in any case, many wars fought in the name of religion had politico-economic roots. Else why were the greatest buddies of Catholic France the Muslim Ottomans, and the greatest enemies of France the Catholic Habsburgs?
@mtavares92 lol what a moron -_-some of the world's brightest minds and most talented people were devoutly religious, more intelligent than you can ever hope to be, from that racist comment
I was reffering to the impact of religion in the average mind
My last argument is pretty true, if you know your history you'll know that many societies took advantage of religion as a form of social control, to keep people in check.
@mtavares92 seeing as I am a history graduate, I'd say I know it, yes. What YOU are refusing to comprehend is that religion will not eliminate social control or bids for power (and many of today's most dictatorial ideologies are anti-religion, like Communism or Nazism). In fact, regimes like the USSR shows us that you don't need religion to keep people in check;and religion is actually the resistance to such tyranny. Let me tell you a few things about the Catholic faith.
@mtavares92 people like Mother Teresa, loved by all of non-Christian India, people like John Paul II, loved by everyone, even atheists. People like Fr Damian or St Kolbe. In my country, immigrants are taken care of by Jesuits, who also organise missions to poverty stricken areas. In Lourdes, 67 miracles have been confirmed by doctors and surgeons who couldn't explain the cure. The church apologised again and again for the crusades, for the inquisition. You're simply prejudiced and anti-theist...
@mtavares92 and before you rant about how insulting the church is, look around you first. You called people like me 'intelect-deprived people'-unless you're ten times brighter than Catholic scientists and mathematicians like Gallileo, DaVinci, Paschal, Pasteur, Lemaitre, don't speak :) even Newton loved the Bible. And my closest friends and girlfriend are all studying to become doctors, and all are devout Catholics. So who exactly do you think you are, if they are intellect deprived people? God?
Take notion that those people are already emotionally compromised with Religion.
Intelect isn't even a question of debate. It's not a factor in this case.
They are not intellect deprived because they haven't come to the conclusion that God doesn't exist, they simply weren't able to solve that question for themselves because they didn't want to. (emotionally).
I grew up almost completly detached from Religion. I never bought that God allmighty watches over you shit
@mtavares92 obviously, your choice is yours and yours alone and you should be respected for that. I never intended to try and convert anybody; my points were that 1) you think religion is the cause for control when control is sought through every means possible, and would continue were religion absent, and 2) the church does an ENORMOUS amount of good which people refuse to see because are prejudiced by what happened centuries ago, for which the church apologised time and time again. That's all
@mtavares92 for your information, the Spanish government didn't pay a SINGLE euro cent of the 60million expenses-the money was paid for by willing pilgrims. Not only that, but the pilgrims were expected to pump 140MILLION EUROS into the Spanish economy. Why did they protest then? Because they simply hate the church-there are your people with superior intelligence -_-
60 million? wow. I guess people are even stupider than I thought.
GIving money in this time of economical despair just to see a man they consider important.
If the pope cared more about people than his popularity he would advise them to not spend a dime, rather give it to poor who are in desperate need of money.
The church doesn't give a shit. All they do is travel around the world and say a few words
When I see some of them cardinals raising a couple of new-born babies on their own with low wage and a beating husband, tell I'll be sure glad to hear what they have to say about abortion.
I'm sick of hearing this hipocritical shit about homosexuality, abortion, stem cell research.
We'll burn in hell. Oh really? The allmighty, all loving and caring God, sends you to die forever and ever in a pit of torture and torment if yo u do certain things?
@mtavares92 God doesn't send you to hell. You choose hell, because you choose the way of Satan. And this has nothing to do with cardinals, some of them are worse Christians than some so-called atheists. But turning your back on your own Father is disrespectful to say the least. Still, you shouldn't fear hell if 1) you behave in a good moral way and 2) you definitely shouldn't fear hell since you don't believe in it!!

@capodicapi69 By religion you mean belief isn't?
I would say contrary: religion is bad, human isn't good or bad neither. And not-forced belief is good.
Nice movie by the way ...

@mirecek0210 A glory that cost the lives of 100.000+ non combatents during the first siege of Jerusalem.
Fuck the crusaders.
I still love this movie though :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

@mtavares92 that is the point, why we should try to have good relationships with other nations, other people, not to continue in this killing. :D

Of course
Religion is just a disguise for intelect-deprived people. That's possibly one of the best things to throw out there:
A just cause. That way the people gets to keep their illusions in check, instead of realising how badly they're getting fucked by the system

That allowed me to analise the whole thing from an unbiased, impartial point of view.
And that's where the difference is.
I'm not smarter than those people you just mentioned. They are probably smarter than I am.
But I don't take pleasure in religious belief. I don't care about religious faith.
Because I am pretty sure that if those people weren't emotionally compromised with Religion they would come to the same conclusions as I did.

1) I never said that Religion was the sole cause for social control.
I said it was one cause. And a powerfull one by the way.
Not everything is a match against the "fighting in the name of God" thing.
Powerfull stuff.
Ammount of good?
Like the pope travelling around the world, forcing the already finance broke state to spends millions on security and other expenses?
