This song is about the 2003 invasion of Iraq, not the Wehrmacht. Anyway, Sabaton wouldn't be so redundant as to make this song about the Wehrmacht, and then make a song CALLED "Wehrmacht", which is in their new album Coat of Arms.

@ThePharaohBender I think the term panzer battalion refers to the formation and the style of fighting, not that american tanks are called panzers. Its like honoring those we fought against, like we have apaches, chinnoks, iriquois,and other native american names because we honor those we fight against. Also like american paratroopers say geronimo before they jump its just honoring the natiive american warrior geronimo who commited suicide by jumping off a cliff rather than being captured.

i don't geht it.... if it is about the german army aruond 1942 every body says "damn nazis" BUT the US ppl don't always agree to what there goverment is doing (about war and stuff) but still you are caling the USMC the best army in the world.

"Panzer" is the german word for "tank". Not "armor" . "Armor" means in german "gepanzert" or "Panzerung" wich discripes a spezial layer around a body to protect the body from damages.

My guess, they simply couldn't find anything more epic to call a "Tank Battalion." If you listen to the lyrics, it clearly states many things that point to the Gulf War. Did the Germans ever use napalm? I don't belive so, did the Germans ever have to knock out SAM sites? They hadn't been invented yet. So what if it's about America instead of the Germans, they've played songs about the Falklands and the 7 day war, why not the Gulf Conflict?

As in Anti-Air Missiles. No one had these in ww2.
The US Armors main goal in the start of the war was to destroy these missiles sights to allow the jets to come and bomb the rest of the Iraqi army.
also they describe the insurgents quite well.

That's not true. I agree that finland did wel against the russians during the talvisota. But even than the finnish eventuele lost that war. There was no victory in Helsinki because the finnish changed side and pushed the germans out of finland. And than they did a ceased fire with russia.........

Fact one: Russians attempted to a break Finnish defence on the Carelian Isthmus, but failed because of the Finnish Army started fighting again (in Tali-Ihantala area 1944).
Fact two: Russians were willing to cease fire mainly because of the fact one.
Meaning: Finns DID stop the strategic strike. What other army has done the same?

the soviet leaders didn't care about the lifes of their own soldiers, that's why they defeated the wehrmacht! the wehrmacht was one of the best armies the world has ever seen, but they opened the gates for the criminals of the ss. my great grandfather fought (and died) in russia and so did my grandfather.

you're wrong! a small, well trained and equipped army is better than a large army consisting of bad soldiers. alexander proved this at gaugamela, the german army proved this at tannenberg in 1914 and again during the first years of wwII, just to mention a few examples in the history of warfare. the russian winter was another reason for the defeat of the wehrmacht. however, compared to su or usa, germany is a small country, and no country is able to defeat the entire world.

@TelumehtarOriOn ..,over 4/5 ths of the wehrmacht depended on horse drawn wagons during ww2. Germany used as many as 2.3 million horses. Only 1/5 of the wehrmacht was motorized during ww2. The average ww2 german soldier went into battle the same way as his grandfather and father did during ww1 on foot with supplies and artillery propelled entirely by horse drawn wagon.
The spearheads went varoomm! and the rest went clippty - clop,...
