Either you love it or you hate it. Back than, we loved it. Later we learned to hate it... remoulded it tastes wonderful again. Paul Young was one of those icons. This was on the radio all the time in New Zealand in 1984/85/86... it takes me straight back to being a little kid again. The 80's really were special in a way we couldn't appreciate until they were gone. I wish we could back and stay for good this time! hehe. =)

Ok Now! This is the 80's right here! The hair, the makeup, the fashion and of course the dancing but you know what? It was totally awesome! :-) The best times of my life are held in the 80's! A time when so many things were just so cool like skating at the rink, hanging out with friends at the park with the boom box blaring these awesome songs and the feeling of being carefree and alive. Maybe it was just being a teen but I dont think so, it was just different back then. Really different.

You cant find that kind of fun today it seems. And I do remember those dreadful shoulder pads. I always cut mine out of my shirts! I didnt feel it was proper for a young lady to look like part of the school football team ( unless that was her perogative lol ) :-D And as for big hair, Awesome!

Although they don't mention it in his bio on Wikipedia, does anyone remember if he had throat surgery or a Dr. ordered him to take a long break after his "Live Aid" appearance, (ala Rod Stewart)? I may have heard that on MTV back then, could have been a rumor. He did start to sound strained & froggy.

Less people using then than now I assure you. Back then we didn't need the fake high, because music and life and the great times were enough to get us through any tough times. Not like the cynical world we live in now and the trashy, slutty, gutteral, music of today. Sure it seems kinda' cheesy, but at the time it was avant garde', hip and the 'stuff', as they say.
