This entire movie, including the European scenes were filmed entirely at Ft Knox Kentucky. You can actually see the aromor insig on the water tower thats supposed to be in Europe.
I know because I came there a day after they wrapped up production.
My DI, Sgt Stodgill was an adviser and double for Warren Oats (Sgt Hulka).
They filmed this in the in-take area that has all WWII barracks, notice the coal pits behind the barracks.
@WiseGuy5674 It wasn't all intake area. I went through basic there in 1982 and we were in those old barracks. Ours was the last company still using the old barracks. Cold as hell (got there in January). The barracks wasn't much warmer than outside. The one (!!) blanket that they issued you was not near enough. At night, I would curl up in a ball and pull the blanket up over my head to keep from freezing. That still wasn't enough. Our graduation was held at the same area as in the movie.
Take a closer look in the audience of actors and actresses playing friends and family. In front of Stella Hansen played by PJ Soles is Dennis Quaid (ex-husband).
Very Nice lyrics posting. Just one more boom at the end and its perfect. You brought back fun memories, as I am the guy in the red bandana in the clip and its good to see people still enjoying the film on YouTube. Thanks and Peace!
LOL! If you listen to the Audio Commentary of Stripes on DVD where you hear the voices of Ivan Reitman (director) and Dan Goldberg (producer) tell you about the sequence that was uploaded by cleve1and.
Olive green uniforms were in when I seved 1980-83. 1st Infantry Div. Battle dress uniforms came out around 1982. Now its digital camo. I love Drill and ceremony on the parade field.
I always liked this part of the movie too! Fookin' hilarious!!! I always thought that's what they said ~~~ who cares what he stepped out of and got hit by ....all we know is :"He ain't no chicken no more"! LOL!
That's the fact Jack!!! Best line in the movie. Well, one of them. Pretty hilarious movie and definately a classic and a must have for your collection.
This is the ONLY movie I have ever watched on video, rewound, and watched again straight through. Being English, I had never seen Bill Murray before. Never heard of him. After seeing this Movie, damn, I wanted to be Bill Murray!
