I've been trying to get this for years and cant find it anywhere too... Great song. I'd been listening to it hundreds of times when I was around 5, in Ankara, Turkey...
This was a huge hit in Istanbul during the early 60's when I was growing up, playing everywhere non-stop.Thanks for posting it.Brings back great memories.Gene Pitney's version is great too. Can't understand why it didn't become popular in the US.
Absolutely AMAZING stereo sound - thanks so much for this/ Brings back memories - when I put it on the gramophone the whole house was dancing the TWIST!
it takes time to look like one is still in their 20's when in fact, they are 70...
what I cannot fathom is that there is NO "dedication,"...Victor obviously has SOMETHING to do with this latest turn of events...could Victor's last name be...I can barely comprehend it..... MAUGHAN???
Five no make that TEN no make that all the stars in the universe for my.....ahem.....MY HELEN!!!!!
RECORDED IN THE U S of A!!! And those Amercians absolutely ignored the diamond that visited them for three wonderful days...
Basil, did you tell all your fans and pals and gals to check out Helen's "YOUNG STRANGER," and "YOU'D THINK HE DIDN'T KNOW ME," also recorded in NASHVILLE with Grady Martin, Boots Randolph, The Jordanaires? huh, did ya mention that?
The superbly recorded "Helen In Nashville" is one of the most underrated rock/pop albums by a female vocalist of her genre at that time (1963). The case has been made that this album was a stealth influence on the Beatles later "Rubber Soul" (dare to listen and compare).
"dallaskenn," must be a gift from above...Basil was the master that led me to this incredible album...and the rest is history..."Helen In Nashville," is now framed beside Patsy and Connie and The Andrews...ahhhhh life is sweet... Basil is is IS RESPONSIBLE!!!

This was a top hit in South Africa too. I saw her on stage in Johannesburg - at 15/16 yeatrs old, she was just brilliant.

Plenty of regulars on this channel will agree you, me included. Hadn't heard the Beatles connection before.
