  • good, but no where on the music does it have spiccato :\

  • Nearly perfect.

  • My teacher said I couldn't play this for my exams as my upper bow technique isn't good enough....

I love this piece so of course Im doing the opposite to this!!(and proving him wrong of course by working by mutt off)

  • One of my main critiques is that he does not keep true to a steady tempo, which is what Bach is all about. Different interpretations render different styles, yet they should result neither in holding the tempo nor speeding up certain sections.

  • @wbasc the constant tempo for bach only applies to ensemble music. His unaccompanied works in many cases reley on bending the tempo to emphasize phrases. Unless of course the phrase is a single line fugue with polyphony.

  • @Shadowtech666 Thanks for your greater insight; I really appreciate it. When I studied and learned this piece, my teacher was very emphatic about keeping a constant tempo; clearly, he was mistaken, as am I.

  • Next year ABRSM grade 8 exam pieces...seems hard. :O

  • Why does this video have so many dislikes? This was amazing!

  • @bdmntnfan it only has 10 dislikes.....and it couldve been better considering he's faculty but he still played it very clean and clear. overall an enjoyable performance

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!

    he plays very "clearly"

  • brilliantly played. No matter how well I play this it will never come close to this. Oh the woes of a flautist :p

  • bach in black

  • @pyrofiliac

    LOL it almost looks brown!

  • GAH i'm never gonna beable to play it this well before NYSSMA

  • That is really quite beautiful.

  • sounds pro

when i got this piece i just played and played and played

such a nice sound when it echos

  • Mi compositor barroco preferido, te dejo 5 puntos

  • It was great, but that slide at 1:41 or so, really made the performance suffer, but it was spectacular other than that. :D

  • That was just beautiful! Brilliant indeed! Nice sound quality! It was played so smoothly!

  • wow fantastic!!!

im learning that pice as well as Sarabanda for my grade 8 exam.

its great to be able to hear Bach played properly!

  • I'm trying to master this piece before i graduate from high school

    GO orchestra geeks!!!

  • me and this underclassmen are gona see who is better by seeing who can play/learn this piece by next week....im take his has to school n own him xD

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful!

so clean and i absolutely love the tone

  • I cant help admiring the clarity and tone quality....superb!!!

  • very good sound:)bravo

  • clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap . . . bravo, great job!

  • do you have the sheets?

  • it's available at the mutopia project website

  • If I can only play like that in my upcoming exam!

  • but at 00:35 you shouldn't do that changing of positions when you do b-d... and also at 1:40. i just think so, then i dont know :) great job however

  • your suppose to shift at 00:35 it tells you in the music to. and at 1:40 too your suppose to shift. Or you wouldn't even be able to get the high notes

  • at 1.40 u can shift the A on E string, 3rd position. :)

  • don't worry too much about positions; for the most part fingering is subjective. it's different if the piece is calling for a sound that playing in a higher position on a lower string can produce, where playing a lower position on a higher string would really negatively affect the nuance. don't be too rigid about the fingering do what feels right; the fingering changes according to who arranges the piece, and according to their idea about what works for the piece.

  • no body gives a shit as long as it sounds good....geesh!

  • that's really good

  • Great job, I am playing this on marimba now, and it gave me an idea of what it should sound like...Man staring at the small print gives me a headache...So many 16th notes in a row =/
