One of my main critiques is that he does not keep true to a steady tempo, which is what Bach is all about. Different interpretations render different styles, yet they should result neither in holding the tempo nor speeding up certain sections.
@wbasc the constant tempo for bach only applies to ensemble music. His unaccompanied works in many cases reley on bending the tempo to emphasize phrases. Unless of course the phrase is a single line fugue with polyphony.
@Shadowtech666 Thanks for your greater insight; I really appreciate it. When I studied and learned this piece, my teacher was very emphatic about keeping a constant tempo; clearly, he was mistaken, as am I.
@bdmntnfan it only has 10 dislikes.....and it couldve been better considering he's faculty but he still played it very clean and clear. overall an enjoyable performance
@MrPohnpeiboy hahaha I just made a shirt that says Orchestra Geeks FTW... hahaha I wore it today and am now washing drink stains with shout... stupid orch dork haters... hahaha
your suppose to shift at 00:35 it tells you in the music to. and at 1:40 too your suppose to shift. Or you wouldn't even be able to get the high notes
don't worry too much about positions; for the most part fingering is subjective. it's different if the piece is calling for a sound that playing in a higher position on a lower string can produce, where playing a lower position on a higher string would really negatively affect the nuance. don't be too rigid about the fingering do what feels right; the fingering changes according to who arranges the piece, and according to their idea about what works for the piece.
Great job, I am playing this on marimba now, and it gave me an idea of what it should sound like...Man staring at the small print gives me a headache...So many 16th notes in a row =/
good, but no where on the music does it have spiccato :\

It was great, but that slide at 1:41 or so, really made the performance suffer, but it was spectacular other than that. :D
