@JheakrynaKyAlur I think you mean that Khan Marthe Pryde formed Clan Jade Wolf after Phelan Kell split the Clan Wolf in half, and by her graces alone did she let them go to reform and rebuild Clan Wolf (With Vlad Ward as their new Khan)
As for where Earth fits in, Earth (Terra) is the cradle of humanity which 99% of the Star League Defense Force left behind when the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere fell into the Succession Wars (around the 2700s).
@JheakrynaKyAlur Terra is the goal of all the Clans (the decendants of Kerensky and the SLDF) because they believe it to be the sacred, holy place (like Jerusalem is now). The Clans are set in 2 factions - Warden and Crusader. Wardens believe that the existence of the Clans is to protect all of humanity from outside threats, while the Crusaders believe that the Clans were created to conquer and rule over Terra and humanity among the stars.
@Derivshx4 I doubt YOU have even played it, since you say that. 3/4 of the comments here are CORRECT. Do you even know anything about BattleTech/MechWarrior or are you just a dumb fuck with nothing better to do?
@Gallowell Oh hello internet tough guy. Let's see, saying that a Gargoyle is basically a garrison mech is totally accurate, which is what I was referring to. But you're a smart one who clearly has the good idea of going around and cursing out people on Youtube. Good job!

The clans are the descendents of the star league forces, back when the capital of the Inner Sphere was Terra, the center of the Terran Hegemony that unified the universe. It was the center of everything at the time Kerensky left. Just holds a great spiritual value for the clans.
Lol, now now, you have to really get into it to enjoy the depth of the game's and storys. If you don't study or learn why this side or that does something or DOES not do it, well, your missing things. Like Why does clan diamond shark start to turn traitor..and SELL the IS mechs? ask yourself that one? Why is it that Jade falcons greatest hero aiden pryde would really be only an average Wolf warrior?
Aidan Pryde as an 'average' Wolf warrior? Because of his exploits at Tukayyid, he is reverred as being the best of the best among the other Clans - Wolf alike.
And adding to my other comment, have you taken a look at the Wolves? They were broken by Phelan Kell, who took half of them into the IS and left the other half to be Absorbed into the Jade Falcons (as the Jade Wolves) and ONLY at Khan Marthe Pryde's mercy were they allowed the freedom to rebuild their clan.
Aye, the Wolves are SO much better than the other Clans! (that's SARCASM)
oh you silly little pup. Marthe was not khan at that point. The events that made Phelan take his half of the wolf clan was due to Vlad and Conal ward. Bringing up charges of genocide against the Illkhan is not something you NORMALLY do when your a clanner. And in the refusal war, it was all meant to damage a crusader clans, to remove their abilty to wage war on the IS. And it was not due to THEN khan marthe's mercy, it was due to Vlad Killing the new Illkhan and remaking the NEW wolfs.
Regardless, Marthe Pryde was Khan of the Jade Falcons when the Wolves were broken (this is after the Tukayyid campaign by only a few years) and launched a Trial of Absorption against the remaining Wolf warriors who chose to stay at the Clan worlds, but otherwise youo have some valid points that I applaude - compaired to some others who think they know everything about BattleTech.
@Ramones226 Umm... I sincerely doubt that! Sure Phelan Kell is quite a warrior, BUT he preferably just pilots a Wolfhound IIC (also not a bad mech) which, in almost all likely scenarios, would be turned into scrap by the first salvo of a Timberwolf. Don't get me wrong, I am no wolf and no jade falcon so this is not about making a point for one clan or the other. Also Do I agree with you in your arguement that Pryde was no reincarnation of Kerenski. I just consider Pryde to have the better chance
@Tormentor ah but Phelan is also an expert in a Timberwolf as he showed on Tharkaad, put them both in Timberwolves and i stand by my point that Kell would win a sound victory :)
@Tormentor That's if you hit the wolfhound. Light mechs can compete with assaults well enough if the pilot is good enough, Diana Pride taking down a Gargoyle in a Nova for instance.
@ErgonomicChair Sure, but in your scenario keep in mind that a Gargoyle is basically a garnison mech and that a nova packs a hell of a lot of firepower for a medium mech. Also, Pryde should have the aim to score a hit, particullary with the two large lasers. Any really good mech pilot won't be circled to death that easily ;).
Ok, ow...ow...These surat's should learn their place before speaking as if they know ANYTHING about the refusal war. Our Khan, and then IlKhan ulric was Murdered in a trap set by the dezgra flith Khan of the falcons. The whole point of the war was to bleed a major crusader clan of it's ablity to wage war. While at the same time purging the wolf clan of its own crusaders, the wolf in exile clan is nearly 99% warden as well as having all the genetic data and tech it needs to surive.
Our Khan? Their Khan? I am about as much a devout fan of BattleTech as anyone else who follows the series, but putting yourself in it, as you seem to be is a little extreme (and delusional)
I loved watching this vid when I finished all the falcon missions! I never got to finish wolf though.... that one level with the pagodas and the force field was just too confusing.
I think the woman is referring to the Inner Sphere when she says "our common foe" - and it seems the Wolf Clan has "fled" into the "den" of the inner sphere (more like the Wolf's Dragoons but anyway) the falcons saw Wardens as traitors and secret allies of the inner sphere freebirths.
I found that one quite simple. All you needed to do was destroy the first group of defenders and the two 'Mech guarding the shield generator, then just attack the building while ignoring the other 'Mechs who are trying to stop you.
Once the building is destroyed, whether or not you defeat the 'Mechs attacking you doesn't matter.
HERE is the problem - I could never find the shield generator. It's far from the "city" and I kept on thinking it was hidden in one of the pagodas. So I foolishly wasted my ammo blowing up the pagodas (and killing whoever was watching "Madame Butterfly" inside them).
Oh well I lost the CD ages ago :( It was fun as hell though.
I thought that also at the time, but once you destroy the road block, you'll get a new MO and nav point to where the shield generaor is, far outside the city (and guarded by a Warhawk + another 'Mech)
I recently downloaded the game again - still fun as all hell
yes, those guys have the same Warden philosophy as the original Wolf clan AND the Wolf's dragoons. She's probably referring to all Wolves EXCEPT the Crusader wolves. But yeah, mostly it sounds like she means Phalan Kell's faction.
Well, this sounds kinda nerdy, but I´d rather live on a Jade Falcon controlled Terra then a Word of Blake broodnest it has become in the Stoyline, so win-win. ;)
Um, we've kinda had Jihaads before *cough* *cough* the WOB attack is no different. Guys who dress up in weird robes nuke everybody, haven't we heard that before?
Wolf was always a Warden clan before the refusal war with the JF. Warden means they wish to act as advisors to the new star league rather than conquer it. The Crusaders want to destroy the freebirth and unite Terra under clan rule.
After the Refusal war, yes, some of the wolves became Crusaders (first being known as the Jade Wolves, and then Clan Wolf once again), but Clan Wolf-In-Exile now stands with the Inner Sphere to protect against Crusader incursion
No, they weren't always Wardens. Wolf had always been divided between Crusader and Warden philosophy and it took Tukayyid (and Phelan Kell) to persuade the majority of the Wolves to abandon the Crusader way.
That's why the Falcons went into a Trial of Absorption against the remaining Wolves (those who didn't follow Phelan Kell) to bring about the 'Jade Wolf' Clan (directed by Khan Marthe Pryde of the Jade Falcons and later seperating into a new Clan Wolf, answerable only to their own Khan.
Alright, not all of their members were Warden, but still their Khan was Warden, and many of the wolves still followed the Warden ways. Compare this to other factions such as Smoke Jaguar, where the higher percentage of its members are Crusader, ergo they are a Crusader clan.
An example of this would be comparing the US to a country such as Belgium. Belgium is generally a more liberal country than the US due to the beliefs held by their respective citizens.
Just because the US has many parties that're pushing to be more liberal doesn't necessarily make them a liberal country. The actual actions and stances taken/held by the US denotes it as being more conservative. Likewise, we cannot assume that since there's a few communists in the mix that the country is communist either (in reflection to the smoke jaguar reference).
And I'm not sure if your second comment was towards me, since we both agree that JF wasn't trying to protect Terra.
Our fallen comrades litter the wastes of these barren worlds.
We were trapped in the wolf's maw, heeding our claws, we bled from our wounds yet we did not die, and now the warden wolf is broken and limping, forsaking history.
All that is honorable and right has fled like a coward into the den of our common foe.
i've only heard of Ghost Bear clan, but it was in a book, but all i wan't to know is how the clans became clans cuz all i know is i like the Wolf Dragoons
Quick question. And please don't chew me up for asking this (the last time I played a MW game was when I was 12)... which is the "good" side: the Inner Sphere or the Clans?
From what I can remember the clans were a massive army the fleed the Inner Sphere because they were such assholes. And then the clans were divided into 2 groups, some of the clans want to go back and protect the inner sphere and some want to go back and conquer it.
I might be wrong.
I suppose the Jade Falcons could be considered bad.
There are not really "bad guys" in battletech. IN the classical view the clans would be considered evil, however they fight for a highly noble goal, even though they have to enslave other plantes for it.
Basically Alexander Kerensky left the inner sphere as the first star league broke up and took his soldiers with him. He then founded the clans with the goal to return someday and end the wars between the houses of the IS and to unite mankind under the banner of a new star league.
I guess it depends on one's ethics whether or not one considers the Clans as being the good or bad guys. Personally I consider them the bad guys. I think Alexander Kerensky would not have approved of Crusader methods as nothing I've read of him indicated he'd want a hostile takeover of the IS. Imagine had the Clans come peacefully how much less bloodshed there'd have been. But that wouldn't make for a very good or exciting game though, would it? lol
The Inner Sphere was in chaos when the Clans came. It appeared to them, that negotiating with these mentally contamined and selfish ppl was not right and so they used another method. Also do all clanners derive from soldiers etc. which makes it hard to believe that they rely on negotiating.
depends on your point of view, the clans wish to conquer the inner sphere, but then again the houses have been fighting since before the first seccession war to gain control of the seat of the first lord of the star league, so its a crap shoot
These endings are supposed to represent their belief on how future events will transpire, since the game takes place before the invasion of the innersphere.
Not long before the invasion however, since Mercenaries (the next game) has them starting the invasion. Can't tell you how many 'Mech's I lost and wasted C-Bills on repairs! (I hate ejecting from 'Mechs)
Um, no. This game is about the Refusal War, which occurred because the Grand Council brought up Khan Ulric Kerensky on charges of treason. Look it up. The Crusader faction on the council desired to resume the trek towards Terra in spite of the truce struck at Tukayyid; Clan Wolf desired to preserve the truce. When the Trial was called, Kerensky defended his position with all of the Wolf Clan's forces.
No clan forces ever entered terran space: this video is non-canon to the Battletech timeline.
There is absolutely no such thing as a central planet of the inner sphere and the game was about the wolf-falcon war in 3057, not the Invasion, again, i am a nerd ;)
Wow, I made that comment almost a year ago. I know now that the game takes place after the invasion, and Wolves are trying to uphold the ceasefire treaty (or whatever). It's been a awhile since I've played this game.
No, the game's synopsis clearly states that the game takes place after the battle. This game takes place during the Refusal War. It even states this on the game's wikipedia page.
If you reference the Hero of Tukayyid, please do so correctly in the future: Aidan Pryde and he was not averse to freeborns as most trueborns were (since he trained and qualified as a warrior after failing his first Trial of Position.
Lore Master Kael Pershaw despised freeborns the most (and so did Joanna until Tukayyid, where she served with Star Captain Horse - aka Tyle and Star Commander Diana Pryde - Aidan's daughter until the later battle of Daemon Beach)
Spartan women must've been awesome based on what I've read about them. Did you know they practically lived in gyms? Best bodies on the planet! And they were hardcore in raising kids. I'd love to have one of these Amazons for a wife :-))
The Spartan's failed. We didn't get anything out of them but a legacy. It didn't produce anything but warriors.
It wasn't a human way of living. If you wish to live like a spartan, lobotomize yourself and live without clothing. That's all that they were. Elements such as responsibility may have been relevant. But Sparta was NOT the best place to get such things.
Calm down! I'm just being funny about them! But yeah, the Spartans took the route of the (Crusader) Clans. They COULD'VE been great, but they were so Hell-bent on conquest it became their downfall. Still wouldn't mind having a Spartan wife ;-))
To a degree. The Crusaders were hell-bent upon essentially gutting the inner sphere and instigating clan rule there. They were outward looking. The Spartans behaved reciprocally. The Pelloponesian insularness was a certain characteristic of the Spartans.
I'm not sure if men would really appreciate them. I mean, what's the point? Angry, state-orientated muscle women? Fanatically blind? Hardcore, certainly. But rubbish as a wife. Of course, you wouldn't need to worry about raising your kidsmuch.
we all know y we love this gsme...because we wish it to be true...we recognize that war is a facet of mankind, its a universal fact that wont change; there will never be true peace...but this style of war wont come true. Whereas there is something honorable in this-a knighted warrior versus another knighted warrior-warfare is headed toward a far more sinister realm-toward AI, electromagnetics, quantum mechanics. If uve ever watched "future weapons" u know there is nothing honorable going on here
The old ways of war was about which side has the biggest hammer to the shatter the other, now it is about which side has the sharpest and smallest piece of glass to strike the enemy at his weakest point.
War is about fighting for the well being of your people, not for personal glory. Honor in war is to serve your people to the best that you can while respecting your enemy though you might need to take his life...
Well, the problem with today's warfare is that you have two styles. One of them you mentioned, where emphasis is placed on how much money can be milked out of the government. A lot of the new stuff is impractical or useless. Future Weapons showcase stuff we should be using. The other style is the actual "sinister" one, where emphasis is placed on how many non-combatants can be killed at once, slowly die, or agonized (bio, chemical, radiation).
The Thor is an interesting 'mech. It's best suited to long range combat, and because of that isn't something that you'd think to use in the games. On the other hand, I've taken down assault 'mechs in them before.
haha, note I never said it was the best mech around, just handy for fire support. ;)
an elemental, wow, that's rather impressive. which game, Netmech? (the only one I can recall that lets you use an elemental, although I'm not sure about the expansions for MW4
the summoner, as i remember it, is actually a pretty lethal mech...as with any large mech, it takes a lot of skill to pilot, and jump jets on a large mech, in the right hands, make it so deadly...when i was a noob playin MW2 for the first time I lived in fear of the summoner and its cousin hellbringer...let it be said... wat a sik fuckin game
I've got the Elemental as a usable.. umm.. minimech (It's rather an armour suit than a mech) ever since 2000, when one of my friends, who is good at game data editing, modified the data of MW3, and made Elemental to be a playable minimech. I also have the lasertowers and rocketlaunchers as usable epquipments too. It's much more fun to play like this. And instead of only 5-7 enemies at once, I get to fight over 20 mechs (Altho' the game starts to lag sometimes because of that)
No, not hacked. Jus modified the data. And it was my friend who did it to me :P
But the Elemental is actally a pretty handy minimech. As I said, I took 2 thor's down with it. How?
Elemental is a small, human sized minimech (armour suit). Big mech's can't lock their rockets on them, so the onl way is to fire lasers and AC's. But for the computer, it's hard to hit a small target that moves fast. So byshooting the leg's of Thor with rockets and lasers, you easily destroy them with a elemental
The Summoner was one of the mechs I feared facing most playing MW3. It is a mech for every situation (it can cary guasses, ppc, lrsm, srms, laser, acs.....). But still I do not really like pilotiong this mech myself, I rather go with it's "cousin". The hellbringer may not have jump-jets, but is the far better chassi if you ask me (gotta say, that I just love close combat and Acs).
I'm a close combat guy too...I'm most comfortable in a 40-50 ton mech (Novas, Bushwhackers, the like). Not particularly excellent in any one category, they are at the least "good" in all; perfect versatility. Equipped with jump jets, a large engine (reactor, watever), ACS, lasers, and SRMs, they run circles around the big guys and effectively avoid taking serious damage while taking out their legs...speed and maneuverability are far more important than firepower with these types of mechs.
I like the nova outfitted with 12 medium lasers. not exactly heat efficient, but it's fun to watch a light mech's leg fall off from a single alpha strike. :)
Those Puney Mercanaries will BOW to the great glory of Jade Falcon. Those who cower in fear were no True Mech Pilots, They were tank jockies. Th only TRUE clan is.. Jade Falcon.
This soundtrack... ^_^

well well i'm always kinda confused about these vids
whether jade falcon ending or wolf ending...
The game itself is about the refusal war between both clans, and no clan got to earth.
the wolfes led by Phelan Ward went into exile on arc royal, and the jade falcon founded clan jade falcon with the survivors of the battle of Wotan...
With (now) Vlad Ward as their new Khan...
so where the hell does earth come from? ;)
ok ok -that's the main goal they want to go to... but it's not IG

ShadowedDreams 2 years ago
Just because the US has many parties that're pushing to be more liberal doesn't necessarily make them a liberal country. The actual actions and stances taken/held by the US denotes it as being more conservative. Likewise, we cannot assume that since there's a few communists in the mix that the country is communist either (in reflection to the smoke jaguar reference).
And I'm not sure if your second comment was towards me, since we both agree that JF wasn't trying to protect Terra.
ShadowedDreams 2 years ago
I don't know how you've been following the BattleTech history, but try turning the books right-side up so you get your facts straight.

This bloody road has come to an end...
We will heal, and resume the trek.
We are back on the true road.
The road... to Terra.
There you go, epic line from my favorite clan.

Quick question. And please don't chew me up for asking this (the last time I played a MW game was when I was 12)... which is the "good" side: the Inner Sphere or the Clans?
Ziggy971 3 years ago
From what I can remember the clans were a massive army the fleed the Inner Sphere because they were such assholes. And then the clans were divided into 2 groups, some of the clans want to go back and protect the inner sphere and some want to go back and conquer it.
I might be wrong.
I suppose the Jade Falcons could be considered bad.
aversion2k 3 years ago 2
the clans are the decendents of the SLDF who fled the inner sphere to escape the war brewing between the houses
boats752 3 years ago 3
There are not really "bad guys" in battletech. IN the classical view the clans would be considered evil, however they fight for a highly noble goal, even though they have to enslave other plantes for it.
Basically Alexander Kerensky left the inner sphere as the first star league broke up and took his soldiers with him. He then founded the clans with the goal to return someday and end the wars between the houses of the IS and to unite mankind under the banner of a new star league.
Tormentor 3 years ago
I guess it depends on one's ethics whether or not one considers the Clans as being the good or bad guys. Personally I consider them the bad guys. I think Alexander Kerensky would not have approved of Crusader methods as nothing I've read of him indicated he'd want a hostile takeover of the IS. Imagine had the Clans come peacefully how much less bloodshed there'd have been. But that wouldn't make for a very good or exciting game though, would it? lol
StealthDonut 3 years ago
The Inner Sphere was in chaos when the Clans came. It appeared to them, that negotiating with these mentally contamined and selfish ppl was not right and so they used another method. Also do all clanners derive from soldiers etc. which makes it hard to believe that they rely on negotiating.
Tormentor 3 years ago
True the whole point about the exodus was to avoid the SLDF being used used against the innersphere
Rajalord27 3 years ago
depends on your point of view, the clans wish to conquer the inner sphere, but then again the houses have been fighting since before the first seccession war to gain control of the seat of the first lord of the star league, so its a crap shoot
boats752 3 years ago
I'd actually love to see Clan Jade Falcon claim Terra and become IlClan.
gribae 3 years ago 2
The endings could have been alot better.
SoManySkinks 3 years ago
Yeah. They don't even make any sense since neither clan has ever had a battlemech stand on the moon.
SoManySkinks 3 years ago
It is not made for canon....
rockstone12345 3 years ago
These endings are supposed to represent their belief on how future events will transpire, since the game takes place before the invasion of the innersphere.
heflys20 3 years ago
Not long before the invasion however, since Mercenaries (the next game) has them starting the invasion. Can't tell you how many 'Mech's I lost and wasted C-Bills on repairs! (I hate ejecting from 'Mechs)
gribae 3 years ago
This game is all about the invasion.
Just have a look what planets they invade. Twycross etc. That's a perfectly FIS planet from the Lyran Commonwealth.
Also you see that those clans have landed on the moon and are now looking down onto the earth. Which is the central planet of the FIS.
JheakrynaKyAlur 2 years ago
CrimsonInquisitor 2 years ago
oh well.
never have looked at this from this point of view.
thx - now it becomes clearer *g*
Explains why i'm missing the FIS mechs IG ^^
JheakrynaKyAlur 2 years ago
I've always viewed this video as a dream of what the clans want the future to be like.
Spirals95 2 years ago
That's because it IS the dream of what they want - have been created for and trained for the last 3 centuries
gribae 2 years ago
There is absolutely no such thing as a central planet of the inner sphere and the game was about the wolf-falcon war in 3057, not the Invasion, again, i am a nerd ;)
weirdcreature83 2 years ago
since humaty came from earth - and i know it, since i'm living here and have not heard about other colonies - earth IS the Central planet of the FIS.
The FIS is just splitted into several pieces... we know. Draconis Combine, fed suns etc.
and thx, but we already pointed out that it was the refusal war.
thx for your participation ;)
i've read some books in the meanwhile - 4 months is a long time...
JheakrynaKyAlur 2 years ago
no it doesn´t, the actions of this game take play 3057, the invasion is 49-52
weirdcreature83 2 years ago
Wow, I made that comment almost a year ago. I know now that the game takes place after the invasion, and Wolves are trying to uphold the ceasefire treaty (or whatever). It's been a awhile since I've played this game.
heflys20 2 years ago
No, actually the game takes place before during and the end video is after Tukayyid. Read the before and after briefings closer
gribae 2 years ago
No, the game's synopsis clearly states that the game takes place after the battle. This game takes place during the Refusal War. It even states this on the game's wikipedia page.
heflys20 2 years ago
I played that level a bunch of times. This video, also the Wolf, are both anti-climatic.

Eiden Pryde here. Who did you called "Freebrith"?! XD
BorshCaen 2 years ago
If you reference the Hero of Tukayyid, please do so correctly in the future: Aidan Pryde and he was not averse to freeborns as most trueborns were (since he trained and qualified as a warrior after failing his first Trial of Position.
Lore Master Kael Pershaw despised freeborns the most (and so did Joanna until Tukayyid, where she served with Star Captain Horse - aka Tyle and Star Commander Diana Pryde - Aidan's daughter until the later battle of Daemon Beach)

Spartan mothers used to say.."come home carrying a shield or ON a shield"...it isn't like this anymore
clanw0lf 3 years ago
Spartan women must've been awesome based on what I've read about them. Did you know they practically lived in gyms? Best bodies on the planet! And they were hardcore in raising kids. I'd love to have one of these Amazons for a wife :-))
Nalebranc 3 years ago
I think mothers now should take after Spartan mothers so we dont as many whiney bitches or stupid ass posers roaming the earth
WidowMaker18 3 years ago
Exactly! It all comes down to discipline and responsibility. Spare the rod and spoil the child is NOT working.
Nalebranc 3 years ago
The Spartan's failed. We didn't get anything out of them but a legacy. It didn't produce anything but warriors.
It wasn't a human way of living. If you wish to live like a spartan, lobotomize yourself and live without clothing. That's all that they were. Elements such as responsibility may have been relevant. But Sparta was NOT the best place to get such things.
harlequin2262 3 years ago
Calm down! I'm just being funny about them! But yeah, the Spartans took the route of the (Crusader) Clans. They COULD'VE been great, but they were so Hell-bent on conquest it became their downfall. Still wouldn't mind having a Spartan wife ;-))
Nalebranc 3 years ago
To a degree. The Crusaders were hell-bent upon essentially gutting the inner sphere and instigating clan rule there. They were outward looking. The Spartans behaved reciprocally. The Pelloponesian insularness was a certain characteristic of the Spartans.
I'm not sure if men would really appreciate them. I mean, what's the point? Angry, state-orientated muscle women? Fanatically blind? Hardcore, certainly. But rubbish as a wife. Of course, you wouldn't need to worry about raising your kidsmuch.
harlequin2262 3 years ago
we all know y we love this gsme...because we wish it to be true...we recognize that war is a facet of mankind, its a universal fact that wont change; there will never be true peace...but this style of war wont come true. Whereas there is something honorable in this-a knighted warrior versus another knighted warrior-warfare is headed toward a far more sinister realm-toward AI, electromagnetics, quantum mechanics. If uve ever watched "future weapons" u know there is nothing honorable going on here
clanw0lf 3 years ago
The old ways of war was about which side has the biggest hammer to the shatter the other, now it is about which side has the sharpest and smallest piece of glass to strike the enemy at his weakest point.
War is about fighting for the well being of your people, not for personal glory. Honor in war is to serve your people to the best that you can while respecting your enemy though you might need to take his life...
juki009 3 years ago
Well, the problem with today's warfare is that you have two styles. One of them you mentioned, where emphasis is placed on how much money can be milked out of the government. A lot of the new stuff is impractical or useless. Future Weapons showcase stuff we should be using. The other style is the actual "sinister" one, where emphasis is placed on how many non-combatants can be killed at once, slowly die, or agonized (bio, chemical, radiation).
Nalebranc 3 years ago
..Thor...
I don't know one person, who actually loves to use that mech in the MW games.
Is there any?
To me, it's just a powerfull, but clumsy and easily destroyable mech.
FrozenAirsoftReviews 4 years ago
The Thor is an interesting 'mech. It's best suited to long range combat, and because of that isn't something that you'd think to use in the games. On the other hand, I've taken down assault 'mechs in them before.
Dekanah 3 years ago
Well, yeah, since it has lots of LRM's, lasers and stuff.
Well, at least now I know 1 person who uses it. (I managed to take down 2 Thor's by using Elemental. Hard to believe, huh? :D)
FrozenBlaze 3 years ago
haha, note I never said it was the best mech around, just handy for fire support. ;)
an elemental, wow, that's rather impressive. which game, Netmech? (the only one I can recall that lets you use an elemental, although I'm not sure about the expansions for MW4
Dekanah 3 years ago
the summoner, as i remember it, is actually a pretty lethal mech...as with any large mech, it takes a lot of skill to pilot, and jump jets on a large mech, in the right hands, make it so deadly...when i was a noob playin MW2 for the first time I lived in fear of the summoner and its cousin hellbringer...let it be said... wat a sik fuckin game
clanw0lf 3 years ago
yeah, at range it's a bit sickening to realize what you're fighting, but in tight spaces, they get ripped apart pretty badly.
on the other hand, I hate the feeling when a 75 ton 'mech drops out of the sky onto your head. :(
Dekanah 3 years ago
yea, it smarts
clanw0lf 3 years ago
I've got the Elemental as a usable.. umm.. minimech (It's rather an armour suit than a mech) ever since 2000, when one of my friends, who is good at game data editing, modified the data of MW3, and made Elemental to be a playable minimech. I also have the lasertowers and rocketlaunchers as usable epquipments too. It's much more fun to play like this. And instead of only 5-7 enemies at once, I get to fight over 20 mechs (Altho' the game starts to lag sometimes because of that)
FrozenBlaze 3 years ago
ah, you hacked the game, nice. :)
Dekanah 3 years ago
No, not hacked. Jus modified the data. And it was my friend who did it to me :P
But the Elemental is actally a pretty handy minimech. As I said, I took 2 thor's down with it. How?
Elemental is a small, human sized minimech (armour suit). Big mech's can't lock their rockets on them, so the onl way is to fire lasers and AC's. But for the computer, it's hard to hit a small target that moves fast. So byshooting the leg's of Thor with rockets and lasers, you easily destroy them with a elemental
FrozenBlaze 3 years ago
yeah, but my question is: did the claw work?
it would be so awesome to have to ride into battle clinging to the outside of an omnimech. :)
actually a game where you play as a member of DEST would be cool, too.
Dekanah 3 years ago
The Summoner was one of the mechs I feared facing most playing MW3. It is a mech for every situation (it can cary guasses, ppc, lrsm, srms, laser, acs.....). But still I do not really like pilotiong this mech myself, I rather go with it's "cousin". The hellbringer may not have jump-jets, but is the far better chassi if you ask me (gotta say, that I just love close combat and Acs).
Tormentor 3 years ago
I'm a close combat guy too...I'm most comfortable in a 40-50 ton mech (Novas, Bushwhackers, the like). Not particularly excellent in any one category, they are at the least "good" in all; perfect versatility. Equipped with jump jets, a large engine (reactor, watever), ACS, lasers, and SRMs, they run circles around the big guys and effectively avoid taking serious damage while taking out their legs...speed and maneuverability are far more important than firepower with these types of mechs.
clanw0lf 3 years ago
I like the nova outfitted with 12 medium lasers. not exactly heat efficient, but it's fun to watch a light mech's leg fall off from a single alpha strike. :)
Dekanah 3 years ago
You blow up if you do that. I've tried. Hit the alpha strike button, kaboom.
