sounds pretty good, i don't feel it has the same sound but it is similar, it doesn't seem to "skream" and tear through the mix very well with resonance up moving through the cutoff filter, very tame and siney when this is done i feel, still great sound and the low end is pretty thick and phat
it's acid, but the prob with the microkorg is it does'nt have the assignable ups and downs the 303 has...and the arpeggiator has set patterns (it goes through the notes up ,down,up then down random or trigger)
which means you cant make a melody.. i've tryed to get changes in the pattern by using the lfo but it's pretty random...
This is far away from the real sound of a 303. But i have to say that emulating a 303 is nearly impossible, even with hardware/custom circuits. Anyway.. nice (and brave ;-) try.
Have to make s slight correction. It is possible to emulate, but you need a clone with original parts like the XoXboX which sounds 100% like the original because technically it is the same.
You can access the MicroKorg's arpeggiator's tempo under an edit dial, the bottom one... I don't have the MK in front of me, but I think it's under the first set of Arpeggiator Properties. You can set it to a specific BPM in there.
I recorded the loop-track with defined tempo using Reason. Set the same tempo on microKORG. Enabled arpeggiator and hit the keyboard right in tempo... ;)
I already did some sound that more closer to the original TB-303 - I added some portamento, note length and compose more TB-303-like pattern. Soon I'll upload video with MPC-500 as a sequencer and a Drum Machine with my microKORG... ;)
i synced my electribe EMX with the microkorg, using the microkorg as the slave, and it was very like a 303.the emx made the microkorg sequence very solidly.ill forward you the track by email if you want to hear it.
Not exactly like a 303, but that's understandable... the MicroKorg doesn't have a 3-pole filter and it's not true analog. Still, that's a good sound and a reasonable approximation for the MicroKorg. Kudos.

Feel like it has slightly more depth than 303 at low cutoff

Everyone seems to think a 303 is the only synth people are allowed to make acid with.

by the way your microkorg sounds awesome, think i might get me one :)

Too bassy to be a 303, also the resonance isnt right. It is an acid style pattern though.

thing is, if you posted the exact same track with a 303, people would wank you off because it's SO ANALOGUE

could you give me the settings please?

Sounds off, but I have heard old euro techno that sounds like this, so maybe more tweaking is required.

would it be better to buy this one or the newer version??¿ :)

man, people are so fkn harsh on these goddamn sites.
this sounds fine, and if you look deeper, you can emulate a 303 much better...
so STFU cranky-ass bitches and leave the man alone

Worse 303 ever. microKorg sucks already.

I think the distinctive 303 sound is a saw, this sounds more pulse-y. Also, more resonance, and it will sound like a "stereotypical" 303. But nice.

303 has a square wave as well though

hmm not the best 303 sound...
benhoughton88 3 years ago
while a decent attempt, it does seem to be missing something. maybe run it through a box to widen the sound a little bit?

i know that you can set time tempo on the MK only by a knob! can you use also a digital mode? (for example 110 bpm)

6/10 for the 303 emulation, but a solid 9/10 if you tried passing it off as a 101!

Could you sync that sound with your Akai MPC500 so that it is in time?
