Theres low to no outrage against Hamas among Palestinians and Muslims is that it is felt that the living conditions in Gaza were so hard that a Gazan (whether w/ Hamas or not) had no choice but to be violent in expressing his/her condition. Essentially, Gaza is in no way capable of functioning as a livable region. Yes, IF Israel had not imposed hard conditions in Gazans when Hamas was elected. Whatever Hamas has written in its so called charter, it can never destroy Israel. Harsh language used in Charter and speeches is understandable and the only way it will disappear is when the more powerful force, i.e. Israel, allows a sovereign Palestinian state with all rights.

why SHOULD they allow palestinians their own state? why should they give up land and valuable resources to a group some members of whom are dedicated to its destruction? well, perhaps to stop the violence. but land is valuable and besides, both sides think they have a holy mandate entitling them to the land. it's not just a matter of giving the palestinians a few acres; it's more complicated.

As tatsukogarasu says, Hamas is a form of a "resistance". I believe it is inevitable for an extremist resistance to form. Lets say Israel miraculously wipes Hamas off...Will the Gazans continue to live in the same conditions? Will a Palestinian state (both parties satisfied) be formed?

If Not, then I'm afraid that harsh conditions always bring out huge emotions in people and that will generate new violent, and understandable, resistance.
