god created us with super intelligence than fish because we choose them less pain for killing. this is Ur way to hell baby . get ready to have the sufferings u given to fish will return to u sponsored by god . only way getting out is do as many as people to skip cruelty and pray to god for good thing to every thing. if u are chosen by god u will understand it otherwise u will neglect it. ok that is ur thing .i did mine .
Im guessing most of this was filmed in Pointe Aux Chienes? That launch at the begining looked like the PAC Marina. I live around there; Barry, the marina owner, and my dad are old friends. I am going to have to try fly fishing there now!
Nothing like catching reds on a fly rod. And it looks like these guides get you right on the pods (schools), so ultra long casts not required. Gotta say this is one of my favorite videos.
use mullet jumpin mullet or shad if the shad is around 5 - 6 inches u catch good 1's mullet has to be atleast 5 or 4 inches but u ken catch shrks to n its easier if ur rod is stationary wit mullet or shad
Yes, redfish are very very very delicious. But there is usually a regulation on how many you catch. Down here in Florida it's 2 redfish per boat. 4 or 6 saltwater trouts per boat and so on. Same with snooks and others. But do try a redfish!
that kinda looks like were i cought alot of reds but it was in corpus cristy in thos small delta oking things i see them there lots of them jump around out there
i want to practice fly fishing but the lake b my house all the fish are too smale to take the flys but in the river their ar some usual snook tarpon reds and black tip sharks, but im not to familiar with fly fishing but i think it is 3lb test line? orsumthin like that
Its evident but cut ur wrists. Unlike in conventional fishing or baitcasting we fly-fishermen measure our rods by the loading "weight" of the rod and not just length. The most common fly-rod ever originated from upland fishing in mountains and alaska -- measuring 9ft ; 5/6 wt (weight)using leader sizes of nearly 4-8lb test utylized for trout and salmon fishing. In the case of redrish (red drum); speckled trout: a 7/8,9 wt rod should be sufficient unless you want a fight.
not a bait fisherman dude....and I EAT WHAT I CATCH with my fly rod....some of us don't have disposable incomes to plunk down 500 bones to sightfish for reds....hell,I can get a killer sage rod for that amount of money.
I've seen the vid now.I once had a dream about red fish swimming in a conelikeformation in the air, so i couldn't stand to type in "red fish" in youtube, this vid was the first result. you sucked. i mean, i somehow feel happy, about beeing able to kill the animal, i'm gonna eat, but letting the whole world to know about it, just sucks, so, why don't you just put a fucking hook inside your head and post a vid of this? REGARDS from germany, r.a.f.(did you know, "germ" is a part of germany?)
Absolutely wonderful video of some great fly fishing for redfish. I'm stoked and want to try it for myself. I want a couple spoon flies and some stories to go with them. I'm glad and relieved that Katrina hasn't adversely affected this fishery. Some fishing videos have too much music and not enough of the fishing audio. This has a proper mix. It's a great post-Katrina come on for New Orleans! I'm betting this will bring a huge number of fly fishermen to this city. I'm one of them!

anyone know the best bait or lure to catch reds ???
apolonio37 2 years ago
The best artaficial bait to use for redfish is D.O.A shrimp. The best live bait to use is Shrimp, crab, or pinfish. Good luck

@apolonio37 Reds strike at almost anything you put in front of them. One of the easiest fishes to hook, if you know where they are.

thnx,
how do you find the weight?
adn im not to sure how to set the drag on my reel? i dont know if it is different on all reels or not though...
trublader1 3 years ago
the wt is printed on the rod along with its length
and some reels dont even have a drag at all
o and also you can catch (almost)ANY fish on a fly rod
crazymexicanomg 2 years ago
fly rods dont have drag, makes it that much better :)
