  • nice you have got to check out mine

  • ok at 0.33 secs into the vid the geko speaks japaness:p

  • @iTurneRi Also How about a Night Lamp?

  • Hi :) I'm planning on getting a Leopard Gecko Soon, and I'm already thinking about the substrate I should use and all the terrarium setup.. I have already thought of using Slate Tile, However is a Heat Mat (UTH) hot enough to warm up the tiles from beneath? (I also think on using a Heat Lamp for not only the extra heat, but the difference of Day'n Night) What do you think?

  • realy nice stup

  • Beautiful gecko, you got her an awesome setup :)

  • Nice setup. Great looking gecko. Thumbs up...

  • I'd like to do something like this. I live in a building in NYC which gets cold at night. How do you keep the left side of the tile from getting cold at night?

  • nice tank but put a back round so you wont have to look at wall

  • @Reptyler14 thanks! you absolutely should make something like it, its rewarding to see your geckos use something that you made for them!

  • @hirata92 I would just pick out something that looks nice :)

  • wat happens wen the power goes out? how can u warm them up?

  • @katiewolf1100 if the power goes out at home I can take the geckos in to work. if the power goes out at work I can take the geckos home. the power here is very consistent though, so I don't worry about it.

  • so beutifull

  • @laceymiir Why?

  • where did you get that box he was in?

  • @singuleristwo the box is a rubbermaid container that you can get at a grocery store. the outer covering was made by me, out of styrofoam and tile grout.

  • @gmaier19 Dude why would you use styrofoam?!?!?!?! Your gecko may scratch it off and eat it!!! Right?! let me know because im thinking of making a little house for my crested gecko

  • Beautiful leopard gecko

  • @123leopardgeckos thanks!

  • @laceymiir i use a lamp dimmer so its fine

  • Congratulations! It is best to geckos terrarium that I saw! I'm looking for a setting for my and I'm researching, but I have decided! I ride my based on yours! Just a doubt .. You have a under tank heater directly under the tile or under terrarium? Pardon my English, But I'm still learning. I'm Brazilian! Thanks for contributing!

  • @ErickCamargo2707 wow thanks for the high praise. your english is great so don't worry. yes i have the under tank heater directly under the tile, but it's attached to a lamp dimmer so i can turn is down. ive had it for several years without any problems at all.

  • ich wette das der gecko lieber sand statz so ne doofe platte hätte:p

  • PLEASE HELP!!...JUS GOT TILES FOR MY NEW TANK...THE TEMP SEEMS TO GET TO HOT FOR MY LEOS...REACHING 100...DOES THIS HAPPEN TO U ALSO...IS THERE A WAY TO LOWER THE TEMPERATURE WITHOUT A THERMOSTAT?

  • @DUCEMAC11 use a rheostat. you can either get the ones that they offer at pet stores, or you can get a lamp dimmer at home depot or lowes or hardware store in your area. the brand is lutron, and they cost something like 8 bucks or so.

  • @DUCEMAC11 or a lamp dimmer. the r like 8 bucks. the company name is lutron

  • @DUCEMAC11 I would put a repticarpet under the tile. That works for a lot of people.

  • I JUS GOT TILES FOR SUBSTRATE...DO THEY WORK WELL WITH THE UTH...HAVE U HAD ANY BURN INCIDENTS OR ANY OTHER ACCIDENTS WITH UR GECKO ?

  • dude that's a awesome cage!!!!! im building one just like it only smaller! i have a tangerine leo:) do you think plecsie glass would work?

  • LOL i doubt u rly csare but i have the same exact red little kidney shaped water bowls ^^

  • HE'S ADORABLE.

  • awesome cage what size is it ?????

  • @TXLink08 thanks! the cage is huge, i dont know how to enumerate it in gallons though, because i wasnt the original buyer. its probably about 4 feet long, 2 feet deep, and about 2 feet tall. if youre getting a leopard gecko though all you need is a 10 gallon tank, but a 15 or 20 gallon is much nicer and your gecko will use the space.

  • @gmaier19 i have two leos their both in 10 gallons btw i subscribed

  • yeah, may i ask where you bought your decor? you inspire me to create a nice setup for my leopard gecko(:

  • @gibsonMPN cool! i made the hides myself out of styrofoam, sanded tile grout, and mod podge as a sealant. type in lizard-landscapes on google and check out the website to see how to do it. you can make it as intricate and beautiful as you like!

  • You were a bit rough pulling you gecko out, you need more dirt/sand, those rocks on the left seem too sharp.......LOL! PEOPLE NEED TO STFU!! Every single video involving people and their pets in a nonabusive situation always has some troll trying to give professional advise while 99% of the time lacking a degree in herpetology. Did you make your own hide and rock??? Looks nice.

  • @rossothecrimson7 haha yea a lot of people post without knowing what they are talking about at all. thanks for the comment, i made the hides out of styrofoam, sanded tile grout, and mod podge as a sealant. if youre looking into making something similar, check out this website lizard-landscapes.

  • hi i am soon getting a leopard gecko and have found all of the info i need to know however i am not sure how many dry hides you should have.

  • i tried that with my geko. it bit me >:(

  • Same here smallman same here

  • nice gecko dude i want 1 really bad

  • nice setup and nice gecko

  • I like your set up, mine is coming along slowly, go check it out if you like :)

  • its a very nice tarrarium but you need much more SAND

and please dont touch the gecko its only stress for him/her

  • @0101sk sand can cause impaction for leopard geckos, and therefore is NOT recommended. Sand is not even natural for them, as they live in areas of mostly rock and compacted clay. also, most leopard geckos dont mind being held periodically, as they are one of the most docile and friendly lizards you can own. maybe you should check facts before you tell people how to care for their pets!

  • @0101sk they dont live on sand idiot and leopard geckos are one of the best lizards to handle...do you know what your talking about?

  • @0101sk SAND IS NOT GOOD FOR UR GECKO!!!!

  • @0101sk Idiot.......... You can handle leos! and sand is BAD! please do a little more research on your reptiles!

  • I really like your setup!

I'm thinking of also using ceramic tiles,

but I was wondering... do you have a problem with the tiles getting

too hot? Also what source of heating to you use? A lamp or a heating pad?

  • @ckirstenm thank you! i use an under tank heater. leopard geckos need belly heat for proper digestion. depending on the under tank heater youre using, yes the tile can get too hot. mine does. its not problem tho, because i bought a lamp dimmer from home depot to turn down the heat. theyre less than 10 bucks.

tile looks great and gives me peace of mind because i know the gecko isnt ingesting any sand, which can lead to impaction. tile is highly recommended!

  • Love your set up! Do you heat with one of those substarte heaters that mount under the glass bottom?? Just wondering cause I just got one .but would love to chance the bottom to tile like yours...just worried the tile may get too warm?

  • @ej247 thanks! yea i use an under tank heater to heat the enclosure. mine isnt an aquarium though so i had to put the under tank heater inside the tank, under the tile. some under tank heater get too warm tho, as mine does, so i use a lamp dimmer from home depot as a rheostat to turn down the heat.

  • Tile is definitely a nice aesthetic touch!

  • does ur gecko ever go in the pile of rocks? and i like ur bedding tile thingy

  • @MILEYSUPPORTER3 thanks! sometimes he walks around on the rocks, but hes never gone into them. theyre too large for digging, but too small to squeeze under or between. hes happy in his hides.

  • i love your substrate is it just tile and large rocks

  • @yankesfanthony thanks! yea i put 2 large 16" x 16" tiles side by side for the center. then i filled in the outside with small rocks to completely cover up the bottom. it works great if you have a huge irregular space to cover up. otherwise i recommend measuring the bottom of the tank and getting the tile cut to exact dimensions. ill put up another vid of my tank that uses this approach soon.
