This method has a special name, what is it? I can't remember it! Also, can this method be used for questions like this: Convert a density of 1.0 x 10^-2 pounds per cubic inch to kg m^-3? Please help!
There is a better way to do this. Use ratiosand unit analysis. The chart is more complex and is certainly not the way that you would do it if you were doinga problem. How many seconds in 2 hrs? 2 hrs*(60 min/1 hr)*(60 sec/1 min)=7200 sec
you know there is a SHORTCUT to that.....all you have to do is move the decimal point to the right if your converting to a smaller unit...hence...25....move it to the right 250. cake. lol
this was great!! i love the trick of setting up the table and then inserting the conversion so everything cancels. nice and visual and keeps everything organized. thanks!!
thanks

@biancargh I just know it as the chart method.
it should work for that example if you know how many lb/in^3 equals a kg/m^3 that would be your conversion factor and then you could use this method.

sillirabbit: I have forgot to say 1 liter = 1 kg (for water)
ccb1951 1 year ago
Sillirabbit: This is the way: 30 inches = 76.2 cm; 7 feet = 213.36 cm ,then multiply
76.2cm x 213.36cm x 60cm = 975481.92 cm3. Now divide for 1000 ( 1 liter = 1000 cm3) . The answer is 975.48192 liters.
To our from latin america it is very simple . We use decimal sistems

How would you find measurements of things with more than two different units of measurements?
EX: How many kilograms of water would a contain with a width of 30 inches, 7 feet length and 60 centimeters deep hold?

Yes, but the shortcut works only for the metric system. It WILL NOT work for any other conversion. The method in the video will.
