  • Also the camera work is wonderful. You very very seldom see plays on video that work. This one does, your cameraman and choreographer deserve the credit.

  • Clever

  • Fantastic performance... and great that you could capture it with such good camera work and sound ! ! ! Curious... do you know the average running time of it? Just saw it (in Japanese) - - it was almost 3 hours (including a 15 minute intermission)...

Having to listen to Rock Island done with traditional Japanese stage style intonation took a few hours out of my life. (Japanese tend to scream instead of talking fast when they get emotional... sort of like Belushi's Samurai chef...)

  • This is a fantastic production and an AWESOME stage! Where is it???

  • @Kapitannemo Thank you. The play took place in So. Utah, but unfortunately the building has since been demolished. :(

  • @ookete It's been demolished!!!!!! That's awful!

  • such brilliant choreography!! :) really snappy movements on the actors too. loved it!

  • I just got cast as Marian the Librarian in our school play :) the guy playing Harold is a foot shorter than me haha =D

  • I remember this! :) I saw it preformed, awesome job as always.

  • sick blackbox

  • agreed. :)

  • !!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Good job!

This is a tricky song to get it to sound as good as this band did.

  • Really good production.Well done.

  • 'If the librairy caught on fire'. Really? Cmon

  • My school is doing this musical.

This Harold has such a great voice, the boy who plays ours sounds like a backstreet boy, haha.

  • Great job! I think I'm in love with this Harold Hill. He's a charmer.

  • haha, thanks!

  • I'm quite impressed with the orchestra!

  • Very good. Excellent choreagraphy for what there was to work with.

  • aw i loved this version i saw a different one live but she through the whole thing she kept making little noises so the situation sounded more painful for her than annoying lol but anyway this one was really good

  • hahaha, wow, this was really good! i enjoyed it.

although my one criticism is i don't think they should have talked through it. i noticed marian kept talking to the kids, and my high school's version was more of a soft-shoe dance, where the only noise was when they'd say "shh!" or something. i think it kinda ruins it when she talks. it ruins the illusion. oh well.

i really liked the choreography, the "theater in the round" type thing, and the ladder.

    haha.

    great job. :)

  • omigosh this is the best choreography ive seen!!! were doing this musical! i made callbacks <3

  • My most favorite musical of all time! I really like the stage setup, almost as if you were in the middle of the action.

    Great choreography too.

  • it's kinda wierd in the the "theater in the round setting", where's the pit? is it just a recording, or are they hidden somewhere? It almost sounds to good to not be a recording

  • My school is doing this for musical^.^

  • awful

  • is that why you have it favorited?

  • This was great!

  • ...

  • aha (:

My School is doing this play this year x]

I'm Marian & personally my favorite song is Till there was youu! (:

  • My school drama club is doing The Music Man this year, and we're sooo excited. I'm auditioning this friday I really hope I get a good part =]

  • not good

  • l0lz thast awesome i saw the movie and they sound just like the people and did they even mean to do that at the end of the show when she hits the boy in the head please comment back to tell meh !!!

  • where can I download the soundtrack?

  • This is great

  • i just saw this last night

  • my school from grade 4-8 are goin to this play!

  • what state is this in? is it like a community theatre or something? the music man is my second favorite musical of all time!! the set is very nice

  • dido! I love the songs!

  • wow , thats really well staged.

my school is doing this play next year, auditions just finished and i'm going to callbacks in two weeks :)

i hope we can do this as well as was done here.

  • we are doing this play in school

  • i use to love this when i was in elementary

  • The best version I´ve seen so far on youtube. Too bad that i can´t find nor the first neither the Disney one on shops her in Brazil.

Oh, and that´s a nice stage!

  • this is a coooooooool stage.

  • i love this play i was in the same one but i was graci

  • this is a sweet stage

  • his maaaaarians were way out of tune.

other than that i liked it.

  • why would he sneak in a back door?

  • the ending of it was weird. its not even how the song ends.

  • True, they had to cut it down so they took out a big chunk at the end.

  • That is a really weird stage, but cool.

  • Good Job!!!

  • I love the set. Love the cast. Love the blocking. I want to work with this theatre.

  • It is a great group.

  • Did they also do Seussical? Because I think I remember this stage...

  • yes.

  • I thought so. They were the best cast on YouTube.

  • So do I. : )

  • I was in this a couple years back as a townsperson. I didn't really like it, but I like the play itself.

  • good except the first 2 marians sounded off but still if i preformed like this at my school i would be proud of myself

  • it is too hard to favorite music and movies, there's too many great ones. far too many. i think this is my favorite musical of all time though. there isn't enough room on any old ipod for me to fit music on prolly. thx for posting.

  • This is pretty good! Harold Hill has a good voice. I played Eulalie in my school play and i loved it.

  • who played harold in this? i sang till there was you once as harold hill, it was for like a night on broadway camp thing, alot of fun, hes such an unusual character even playing him for a few secs is so cool!

  • I don't think any performer can bring the level of perfection to the role of Harold Hill that Robert Preston brought...he was indeed the standard by which any performance should be measured. At the very least? An extremely tough act to attempt to follow....

  • The Professor is a little too serious for my taste. He should be having great fun in making fun of Marian!

The sustained vowels are wrong too.

  • wow Harold was great!!! xD

  • btw... great dancing and choreography. And singing :)

  • dude... ur harold hill... not some shakespeare guy. liven it up! gj tho :)

  • probably my favorite song in the whole play! i love performing it!

  • I did this show as an actor once and a lighting designer another. This is the best scene in the show to light!

  • Very nice! It's very interesting how your group made the music man into a show in a theatre in the round. Well done.

  • wen we did this song we had these library carts that we sat and spun on n stuff on for half the choregraphy, then we had these bookshelf benches that we moved to make aisles in a library it was pertty sweet

  • when I was a kid I got run down by the mobile library passing thru OUR TOWN

there I am screaming in agony

    door opens " SHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

  • OMG...look at all those empty seats...hehehe

  • thanks...i'll probably need it ;)

  • awesome! i'm performing this song for my show choir try out and had to see how the actor "portrayed the music" looks great!

  • Good luck on your tryout. :)

  • i wish we did this song when we did this musical in my class.

  • This is soooooo awesome!!! Music Man in the... square... amazing... great job by everyone

  • Loved it! I did this show twice myself (hate to say it but my high school production was a lot better than the community theatre production i was in) Love the dancing!! and as to the post below, it's NOT a professional production, (can tell from the atmosphere of the theatre,) , community theatre it can be hard to get a lot of male dancers.

  • Wow, seems like a rough crowd this night... Marian the Librarian scene always makes me giggle, but they are like statues. Great job in this production, by the way, you've got the energy of his character down to a T!

  • LOL I know.

  • professional shows include male dancers...dont they? this has like two

  • do you have the other songs of this play?

  • Yes, a few others if you look under my uploaded videos.

  • of this video did you got on a tv or how did you get this from?

  • No, this was a local stage production that I was in.

  • you were in this production what was your role?

  • how did you get this video from?

  • What do you mean?

  • that was a really good production in seems. Where was it done? It looks really Professional

  • Thanks, ringleret. This was done in St. George, UT. It was a community theater, but they do high quality work.

  • that lady who plays marian paroo she looks like molly shannen.
