So you transform into a goron because a goron spirit inhabits the mask. That spirit is Darmani so you look like Darmani. You also found where he was buried. Are all the masks like that 'cause if so... what of the Deku mask?... I'm sort of piecing it together because the butler said you looked like his son but where did the son die?...

Is the deku son that tree back in the beginning of the game?! It said it beared "close resemblance."

@Xybur7 Actually, yes. That tree you saw in the 'tutorial area' is the butler's son, implied to have been turned into a tree by the Skull Kid after he left home. The 'curse' you're inflicted with is intended to trap you in that son's form, but you heal yourself and his soul and obtain the mask. The transformation masks all contain a spirit as the game shows, apart from the fact it doesn't outright show the son but leaves enough lore to discover.

This shouldn't be a spoiler for anyone, though.
