I am a South African singer that moved to Canada for Opera school. I just heard this piece in Toronto last week done by Eleanor Daley's comissioned choir. I tried to find it, and am so proud to see the best version on youtube done by you guys all the way in SA. Rock on! Really makes me miss SA style choir....good memories.

we sing this song every other year. when my show choir that i am in goes to Hawaii. We sing this on the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. We go really soon in may! =]

YESSSSS i sang this senior year in high school, ened up performing it at a friend's father's funeral, so incredibly bittersweet. hauntingly beautiful. and i adore daley's composition <3

Agreed. I sang this piece my sophomore yr in hs for our chorale and it made me tear up every time we reached the final stanza:

"Do not stand, do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die"

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL rendition. Too bad the sound guy sucked. But you have that. Either sopranos are too loud but you hear all the parts or you hear the sops evenly but too quiet.

Regardless, it was probably the best rendition I've heard :-)

Sopranos could tone it down a little...but that could also be from the bad recording quality. Other than that, beautifully done. Great job with the dynamics. You all blended very well with each other. Alto's especially. You sounded like one person.
