I think they wanted to firm their business in India due to the extreme welcome they received to Innova and Fortuner. However I do suspect if they are selling the already made base with a OK looking body, which they recently called back in USA because of the accelerator issues!!!

Very good car and rightly priced. This will shake the Maruti Sales Team from top to bottom. I drove Echo outside India, now thats way back in 2003. I liked that as a small car and now we are getting Sedan and a better version and engine than that. I would definitely recommend this for the Middle class segment (Including me) and insha'ALLAH will book this car. Was waiting for the test drive but the test vehicle is expected by 25th Dec.
its the revamped toyota yaris with the same engine detuned for India,, wonder why they cant retain the same model as sold in US, I personally feel its more sportier than this one which looks so dull.... :(
Toyota Etios dealers in NCR (Gurgaon and Delhi) are saying delivery will be in May/June - Too bad . I need this car in Jan 2011. I need this car now.
awesome car guys! at that price kindly do not complain about interiors etc ..on first looks it looks better to me than any other car that is avaible here in india currently.It also makes me think twice about why the Marutis and Hyundais of the world have been taking us for a ride with their shitty overpriced products.Toyota is the best..they will rip the market apart with this product.I am definite.
The car clearly shows that it is built to cost. Quite functional but looks are average. At a first glance, I'd call it more a face-lifted Logan. Excited to see how this is accepted. I'm optimistic about this car looking at the way Figo was accepted.
Toyota does a TATA! Nice crisp review. Interior design and quality is appalling, space is tremendous. The front and the back could have been better designed and the chrome bits thrown in the trash bin.
Any idea on safety features/suspension specs and service intervals?
Looks like Toyota had save on the cost by cutting down on quality a little bit. The interiors are not all that impressive. Hopefully the car is a good to drive.
