  • I would have been slapped silly for such technique at his level!

  • If he was blocking like that for real he would hurt himself...he should have a full rist rotation at the end of each block but he stops short with his rist in a forty five degree angle. that extra twist at the end is designed to deflect the punch/kick.

  • Just goes to show you that you don't need Hikite to get through to a final.

  • thats bad technique

  • Do you maybe have a video when he is doing Kaminari or Kanku Sho? If you do please post it :D

  • WKF nonsense. You want to see how this kata was meant to look, then search for the Osaka Sensei version.

  • i jijui uke schiko dachi man. 1:47

  • funny how kung fu and karate come from one another but karate can become robotic sometime according to how is taught, but most kung fu styles are always strong but still flowing beautifully.

  • this is gymnastic ...no kime

  • iki bagus tenan, ora iso koe ngikutin

  • Great speed. Very sharp but some techniques apear sloppy for eg the chuto's

  • dont like his shuto ukes hes not executing them properly!

  • I like luca form i actually study his stuff to some etend but im bruce lee with it at the same time, i take from it what i can use because i realize that he is cutting some of his stances and moves in half to get more speed and snap. Whether its wrong or not i always think of in terms of being able to defend mself if it works when you need it in order to defend yourself or love one then cool, but i realize what he is doing is like a short cut and sorry luca there are no shortcuts.

  • his shuto kokutzo it s not good,,,arm is to far from the body

  • what a great speed :O

  • Don't get it wrong , I really respect Luca Valdesi but there are so many extra moves and your feet are not supposed to make noise .

  • Mama mia

  • His speed makes him do the stances wrong and obscure...... Should clear out the stances. otherwise a good performance with an extraordinary power..... Super powerful performance...

  • @enta3omry293, there is definite truth in what you say. The judges are full of shit if this guy keeps winning with the rapid movements and dramatic pauses. This is NOT good kata and anyone who says otherwise, doesn't know what kata is all about.

  • @dekioch l would really like to see u doing kanku dai

  • a lot of mistakes :S

  • @dekioch like what

  • That was a well executed kata performance.

  • bom kata oss

  • I like Luca Valdesi's performance but I have to say that this is not the best Kanku Dai I have seen.

And though I am not at his level yet, I must say that I have seen some mistakes in this kata. He makes extra movements that are useless. Lot of kime though.

  • let me explain.he can do better than this, but no one else can,and no one else will for a long time.

    thank you.

  • @vladan123if

    Don't be so sure...

  • @vladan123if

well said. I had the honor to be at one of his stages and trust me. Whatever people says...THAT is excellence.

  • @LaLobaGitana

thank you :) i had the honor to be aka,and valdesi ao ;)

  • If you slow it down, you'd slow extra movements all over the place that are just plain wrong.

  • @R0CKY44: That is so true.

  • @R0CKY44

well the point is in the impression in the tournaments not the technique itself

i know that cause i was at a tournament recently and i got silver

    sooooooo

    u are right!!!!!

P.S valdesi's best kata is EMPI

  • @R0CKY44 GENEAAL

  • I like Luca Valdesi and I respect him very much..but in that video its not the best kata

that I have seen and he has many mistakes in his legs and his stances but he plays and punch like a bullet and I think that's the reason of his winning every time

that he depends on his power and speed only not the technique

  • @enta3omry293: Yes, you are right. However, that's what judges are looking for, since they don't know how a correct technique should be executed anyway!

  • @KARATEbyJesse you guys talking like martial arts expert..true martial artist will not waste his time for this shit

  • @KARATEbyJesse

When Karateka are judged by judges who "don't know how a correct technique should be excuted"and they are looking for ROBOTICS this eventually has undesireable backfire on Karate-Do and that's a shame!

  • fairly executed sir! Osu! I have a question, I am interested in doing some karate tournaments that I have found coming up in my local area. I want to know what is the point system for Kumite, Kata, and Weaponry?
