Gut gespielt.Aber die Rhythmusmaschine bringt viel zu wenig Power.Das ist immer der schwachpunkt der Orgeln.Denn ein gutes Powerschlagzeug ist schon die halbe Musik
@musictosoothe The FE and FX series of organs from 1982 to 1984. After 84 the electones came as a plastic or pvc unit. The FE 30 is the baby of the lot, but with amazing sound, however the FC 10 and 20 of the same range was the biggest rubbish ever built by Yamaha. In 83 a FE30 was very expensive and the FE70 was only for the rich! A FX was not possible to buy, price of a house!
Wow...this is really good...I especially enjoyed the improv part at the end! That's some great musical thinking, and some really, really hot playing! The old FX-20 can still do it!
@mikosoft yes, that part is my own ... when i was learning this song a long time ago, i couldn't remember what was actually done during the song, so i just added that part at the end.
Flash dance was played great keep it up John, Love your playing would love to see you playing a Tyros 3 they seem to have a lot better instrumentation, But you play the FX20 just perfect.
The classic Yamaha organ sound - that's a beautiful example you have there. Glad to see it still being used. Also, an excellent version of this 80's pop classic. More, please.
I used to sell these back in the '80's along with the lesser FS models. They were great then and still are now. Only instruments to come close at the time for sound reproduction were ther likes of the Technics U90. I remember the motorised sliders on the FX, visual as well as sounding impressive.
The FX series of this model used FM syntheses technology, like the world famous Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer. It was manufactured in the 1980's. I am not sure when Yamaha started using digital sampling? On this organ used PCM digital drums.
Normally i do put in drum breaks.. i partly didn't cause didn't have room to store the program on my rp-1 with the song..also cause the original didn't really have much in the way of breaks, only slight ones.
I mainly studied the piano for 50 years so I never got time for the organ. Your playing and arrangements are quite good. Does anyone know what this organ costs? New or used? I keep getting conflicting quotes. Many thanks.
This organ cost a whopping Approx SGD25,000.00 in Singapore 17 years ago when first came out in the market. It was pricy, but was still lower than the FX-1 which cost SGD62,000.00
Costs vary, sometimes you can find them in estate sales now for $750 + for an FS-500, not his FX-20 in the states & sometimes far far far more. Prices very a lot. The FS-500 is smaller but similar... Expect to pay more for the larger FX-20. They were made in 1983. I repair my own, but if you can't, make sure you have a tech. someplace that can maintain one for you. Check Craig's List, I see them on there occasionally and also on eBay. These are beautiful instruments, I have one here.
Great Work ! I do love this song. And really nice interpretation and matching registration ! The rhythm pattern is not exactly the same as the original but you did good job in selecting the patterns for the sequencer. 5/5 from me.
I think this is not form original key, but never mind it's really good. :)

I in mid 70's my Lowrey used electronic analog T filters for to simulating the hard sound in the drum section.
