Scarlatti would appreciate some of the irreverant responses given his own writing about the sonatas. Hilarious comments and great performance but I think Fisk rushes almost everything he plays. Compare his interpretation of Couperin's "Les Barricades Mysterieuses" to the performance of John Williams.
Fisk ruins everything he touches, I'm surprised that some one who knows him doesn't correct him...and tell him "Dude, learn how to use your right hand for gods sake, it sounds like you apply sand paper to the bottom of your fingernails."
Maybe you dont know this...but scarlatti actually did all his musical carrer and created all of his 555 sonatas in ...SPAIN? actually there are multiple musicological studies which relate his music with traditional spanish music. I think he would be delighted...maybe he even had castañets in mind when he composed this..
GOD when will people learn?!?! Scarlatti was ITALIAN!!!!! I know he was influenced by Spainish music, I know where he lived and worked most of his career, but this is too much.
Well i'm in a billion 'music groups' and I say poo. Perhaps its not so much how many 'music groups' one plays in, but how good those 'music groups' are? eh?
He's lying. He talks trash nonstop on the internet. I told him to post up a video of himself playing the classical guitar and he didn't. He's a kid. He doesn't really know anything about guitar or MUSIC in general. Don't argue with him because his ignorance blinds him from reason.
Fisk is one of those guys who acts and speaks like he is so knowledgeable and good but his playing doesn't quite back it up. John Williams, Manuel Barrueco, and Julian Bream are so much better and don't have an air about them like this guy.
anyone have the tabs for the castenets part?

I like it fresh innovative surprising.
Scarlatti was influenced a lot by Spanish folk music.
guitar1050 2 years ago
Yes, but that does not mean that ALL his sonatas are Spanish. Like this one, this is Italian in style! Just like Vivaldi's lute concerti.
So, it is right to say this Fisk is kinda insane with his music.

I and all my students have better tone than Fisk, perhaps none of his speed and virtuosity, but he makes a sound that is unpleasant and grating.

Virtuosity= tone AND control.
He has neither which means that he is NOT a good musician.
