  • There's very little about his explanation that is correct.

  • Wait, wait, wait....I ACTUALLY LEARNED SOMTHING FROM EXPERT VILLAGE??

  • Weirdest instrument Ive ever seen, but also one of the coolest.

  • @kleenex303

    oh yehh its a theremin

  • simpsons brought me here

  • Soo, ExpertVillage has only upload 138 000 videos. Thats not so much -.-

  • @ninjaamaster That's why it's a village :P Not a very big population..

  • Now this comment has nothing to do with the Theremin at all, I'm just going to say. That old man that is talking looks so awesome and trsutworthy, like you could trust him for anything. Now finally about the Theremin, its witchcraft plain and simple.

  • @yansube until you see him with your kids in his van...

  • Those theremins look pretty awesome.

  • are you a wizard

  • it changed my life, know how does a theremin works and can't buy one. you could do a vid showing where to buy a theremin.

  • There is no "interrupted magnetic field." The theremin includes each hand-to-antenna capacitance in resonant circuits, with the distance of the hands controlling the amount of capacitance. Variations in capacitance affect the pitch by means of heterodyning with a fixed-frequency oscillator, and the volume by means of an amplitude detector.

  • Furthermore, the fact that vacuum-tube oscillators were used in the earliest designs have nothing to do with potential interaction between the volume and pitch controls. The volume antenna is positioned in an orthagonal relation to the pitch antenna so that the up-down action of the volume hand remains at the same distance to the pitch antenna and thus has minimal effect on pitch. The volume antenna may be a plate, as well, although the loop allows the hand to "dip," to ensure the most muting.

  • What do you expect? Its expert village. =)

  • The creators of "Expert Village," in attempting to get their share of Internet presence (for whatever reason), seem willing to disperse all kinds of misinformation. Sorry I spelled "orthogonal" incorrectly.

  • How the Theremin Works

    with Doc Brown

  • im doing a work about theremins and this helped alot thanks

  • im gonna make one

  • neato!

  • that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
