Opium is not a hallucinogen, so I highly doubt he was hallucinating. Also, in this clip he shows absolutely no sign of someone under the influence of opiates. If anything I'd guess he was on some kind of stimulant: )
But if he was on opium in this video, he clearly had a high enough tolerance to where it did not have an effect on him, which would most likely mean he was quite addicted.
