  • do you have any tips for buying a record player?

  • it's a cool turntable. the Cruisin series actually went to 1969 featuring Harv Moore at WPGC in Wash., D.C. 1968 is Johnny Dark WCAO Balt. 1955-1969 I have the entire series , and yes the re-issues suck !

  • wow these are some OG songs for real. love love love love it............... <3

  • Most of these records were not hits in the same month. They were spread out through the year. But now the places that are advertised, dance halls and stuff, are accurate. You can also download jingles. Most of the stations used the PAMS jingles. They are very fun to listen to. PAMS still offers these original jingles for your own radio station.

  • Most people DO think these are actual air checks. Broadcasts were never this smooth or scripted and the music line ups were never this hot. These were orchestrated to give the best of the best over that entire year. Rock N Roll oriented. They played pop songs as well mixed in with it. If you ever hear original air checks they aren't that wonderful. In a given month there were lots of "not so hot" records and a few big hits.

  • The commercials and jingles are original. What's interesting is to look at the jacket and see the original copyright credits. They were still listed as Roulette, Rama records, etc. Once those small companies were bought out by labels like MCA - bigger companies - they were no longer on the record. They had to change them around and put other songs that just didn't fit the original patter and jingles. Made a huge difference.

  • Oh my gosh I loved the Crusin series! This takes me right back to childhood. These albums were so important to me. I played them constantly. I wore out a couple of copies of 1956 and 1957. Buying them now CD is not the same. Copyright changes came about and they were butchered. The only way to get the original line up is the first pressing albums. My cousin was a DJ and had them on cassette and gave them to me. Took forever to find the albums.

  • Actually, this is not an actual WKMH 1956 broadcast. The Cruisin' series recreated radio shows from 1955-1967, digging up the records, jingles and original DJs. Robin Seymour did this re-creation in 1970, although it is pretty close to what he did on WKMH and its most wonderful successor, WKNR Keener 13.

  • I often wondered if it was an actual broadcast from that era now I know. I have corrected the title. Thanks for the information

  • I'm glad that you posted it. It's a classic! Robin Seymour went on to host the Swingin' Time television series out of Windsor, Ontario and he remains a highly respected figure to this day.

  • OMG!!! It starts off with Eddie My Love! That is one of my fave tunes! It reminds me of my Dad (Eddie)! That turntable is a BEAUTY! What a fabulous record find!

  • That's one of the "Cruisin" series of records. Each features a day in the life of a redhead named "Eddie" on the cover.

  • The Faygo Root Beer commercial heard on

this album was, in fact. the audio version of

a hilarious animated t-v commercial which is

available for viewing on YouTube. Just enter

'Faygo Root Beer commercial' into the search

unit and watch, if you haven't seen it already!

    Man. it's a guaranteed hoot!!

  • WOW!
