it takes me like 2 seconds.. when I put it into a garlicpress?! The paper remains in the press and the garlic in your pan. Where you want it to end up anyway.
Never the less, nice vid though; I'm gonna try this next time I'm cooking with garlic ^_^.
@svdm83 it works really well when you don't want to dirty your press, or if you are just doing one or two cloves. i love this method, although for larger amounts of garlic I'd rather use a press, simply because garlic can get sticky and my hands feel nasty by the time I get through four heads.
This is sillily awesome -- what a quick grab! I just learned bunches of garlic techniques that I will use my whole life... in about seven minutes.
I bought two heads or garlic the other day and have been just sorta cutting and bashing 'em, throwing them in pots... giggle. I've always adored garlic, but never worked with the real stuff -- just powdered (I know, blasphemous!).
Genius vid approach! Thank you so dearly, our cookingguide!
the best way is to press the garlic's tail, so you can save the knife and the garlic from beign smashed

That is the way to peel a clove of garlic not an individual piece of garlic. Get your ship together!

@bddc201 ...That doesn't happen. I've been using this method for many years. I don't think you're in danger of either ><

I do the same with a small board, definitely not a knife.

I'm totally subscribing to you. I'm a total cooking dunce and was never really taught as a child, most recipes never explain the basics. Thanks!
