  • lol! filming a beginner, with this accessory

  • Monopods work well to reduce up/down shake but not so great for side to side (panning) shake. The monopd sits on your hand and can't rotate freely because of friction (obviously) so when your hand twist (just a little!) the camera follows and thats the jarring movement you see in the video.

  • Haha, I just realized, while watching all these makeshift steady cam rigs and makeshift shoulder rig videos; "Wait a minute... I have a Steadycam Merlin... I have a Redrock shoulder rig... ". Derp. Cool though!

  • Дебил в шапке!

  • not bad, the shake doesn't look bad at all! independent filmmakers should use this technique for chase scenes where you want that subtle shake.

  • @voidofambition It looks terrible alot of jarring movements. I think maybe he has left digital stabiliser on, and with panning shots some cameras behave very poorly. Give a stilted effect such as here.

I would say turn digital stabaliser off and try this, and try it with it on as well.

  • mm no.. you must release x-y and z axys in your monopod. only in this way you can use the steadicam word

  • fail

  • you sounds like Bill Gates!

  • @holycowkalabaw - nice name haha lol kalabaw

  • Это что, прикол такой, или паранойя?

  • the little camera look like to have a better quality than the bigger one

  • yeah... I mean ... sure ..

  • Doesn't look at that steady pops, try again.

  • @mahadragon compared to handheld? lulz did you expect it to be on par with a 3000 dollar steadicam pilot?

  • that silly steadycam sideways swagger lol

  • The results were somewhat mediocre. I've been using the Cam Caddie Scorpion, for $38 it's afforded me some amazingly smooth shots. It can also attach lights, mics, and even a monitor if need be. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of an independent setup.

  • just what I was looking for, thanks!!

  • Great tips

  • wats the name of that monopod

  • @torawfordiz Manfrotto.

  • great video, answered my questions for an all around solution for travelling photography / videography

  • whats the name of the monopod model in the video?

  • @WESTWOODBEATS I Think its a manfrotto dunno the model but loots like one

  • I've found that this works perfectly for the Flip cams. Haven't tried it with my heavier camera.

  • Are you really think its stable??? ))))

  • @cper34 About has steady has your english! SNAP

  • Can you put weight under the monopod to make it even more stable?

  • @RyanTheTuber depends on your monopod. if it fits then sure.

  • Great information!!!
