LOL at the funky music and sound effects: "UH!" "UH!" "ORRRR!"
This version is different than the others. Never even knew it existed. The graphics are better than the Amiga, although the original fab music of the C64 is missing. Interesting though!
I'm pretty sure I used Arculator, I would check to make sure but my PC crashed completely the day after uploading this! I tried a bunch of different ones, which is why I can't remember exactly... the important thing is the emulator should support APD images as that's the only form Last Ninja is available in.
The startling thing about this version of the game-Is that the graphics are way better on the commodore 64 version. The cbm-64 version of The Last Ninja is one of the most beautiful games ever coded, with some of the greatest video game tunes,in the history of video game music.
I recall playing Last Ninja 2 on the Amiga, and thinking 'This doesnt look right'
The Last Ninja was System 3's jewel in the crown, and defo one of the c-64's greatest achievments.
Actually the attack patterns are completely random, and you lose health the moment they initiate an attack... meaning there's no possible way to block them - the only way to block attacks is to already be blocking before they even initiate the attack. It's pretty bad, the C64 original is way better... though the fighting system is very simplistic there as well, at least it's not as unfair.

Oh dear, they had to work that cheesy, cliched "oriental ditty" into the music, didn't they?

What an interesting version. Excellent graphics, with apparently very poor fighting mechanics. How strange!

The first fight is just 2 guys kicking each other in the balls. These ninjas fight dirty!

You might get some issues with the sound, though... such as stuttering, delays, etc.... at least I had a lot of sound issues.
The way I got around that - I cut the sound from my recording and then recorded the sound effects from the game and made them into little WAV files.
Then I added every sound effect (and of course the music and everything else) manually in Premiere Pro after I was done recording everything.
A *lot* of boring and repetitive work as you can probably imagine :o

You re-dubbed the whole video? Wow, that takes a lot of dedication. Nice.
