I also recieved the series as a gift, and I must say not to judge the rest of the series on the first two movies, they are merely for introduction of characters and little else, and once you get to the third movie it starts getting REALLY good, and I must say the movies after only get better, MUCH better. Hope that's of assistance.

Hornblower is not to be judged by the first two movies- this particular trailer was from the seventh. Once to the third movie, It begins to rival the Sharpe series, and only gets better with each movie. The same company as produced sharpe's rifles and the rest of the sharpe series also produced hornblower.

Excellent work. I too am disappointed that Hornblower hasn't been continued. Read somewhere recently that Gruffudd tried to get a feature project going but could not get A&E to finance (high production costs, etc.). Do they hold the rights? Won't someone chunk over the cash? (Fantastic Four money could have been much better spent on Hornblower!!) I've devoured the whole DVD set twice now and want to watch the rest of Hornblower's life. I know, "read the books" but the films transport me.

Fantastic trailor..."film & score" ....but also makes me feel gutted that they are'nt making anymore episode's,especially how they left it...Hornblower had just made the rank of Post Captain,Napoleon was still Master of Europe and his wife had a baby on the way,not to mention all the crew he had served with boy to man...what give's? ...why did the American company making Hornblower decide not to make anymore?...gutted
