I've never heard this mix before - this appears to be an underdub. It is missing the girls singing the usual "Hey Lawdy Law. . . ." response like in the orig. Angels' version.

The Angels recorded the original song, which was intended as a demo for The Shirelles, but the studio liked The Angels' demo so much they released their song instead.

Within weeks, The Chiffons released a cover of The Angels' song. Martha and The Vandellas did as well.

By the way, the Angels returned the favor by covering "He's So Fine" on their album . . . using the same backing track and background vocals as the Chiffons version!
