If there is room for a car to pass on the left while the vehicle in front is turning right that's perfectly okay for the car to make the pass. Same applies to a bike. The van turned into the path of the motorcycle so in my view was 'at fault'. Assuming you both had insurance, what was the outcome of your claim?
I'm a biker and it was purely an accident in my eyes. Driver couldn't see you behind that car and you obviously didnt see him as you carried on going. Unfortunate accident I say.
If you look at the video closely. The guy with the van was supposed to yield behind the dotted lines for traffic coming in the opposite direction. The video footage clearly shows that the drive went straight across.

I'm from the UK. This would be the guy on the bikes fault. You can't overtake a vehicle on the left. What happened here is one of the reasons why. There's no way the guy in tha van can see a bike coming out from the left as the vehicle in front is hiding him.
@778Ash Sorry I should have explained, i work in insurance and the highway code says you can overtake on the left in a situation where a car is signalling to turn right. I can link etc if you need me too. But it specifies only if its clear and thats it. So it was clear and his right of way but he hid himself, hence why fault would be split but still sit with the van driver. Does that make sense?

The truck however, did not cross the mddle line of the road he was turning into before beginning the turn.

- Cross the centre line of the road you are turning into, BEFORE you begin the turn."
This guy was already drifting into my lane before the street he was turning into even started.
