  • I love learning about bunnies from a 10 yr. old :) its sad that a 10yr old knows more than me hahahahaha :)

  • @4HLancasterNE

What is the name of this breed of Rabbits. I had a rabbit like that once. I thought it was only known in middle eastern countries. I got mine from Egypt. In Arabic it is called Jabley rabbits, but when I google rabbits breeds in English my rabbit's breed is not listed. So I would love to know the name of the breed in English, and also how does it behave. Mine is a desert rabbit it is active at night and sleeps all day long.

  • I like how she scrunches up the rabbit every time it gets too long

  • Poor bunny :(

  • Good job with the vid but i heard you not supposed to lift you rabbit up by its fur or flesh.

  • @Ednir97 If done incorrectly, picking up a rabbit by its fur and/or ears can cause injury. However, failure to properly restrain your rabbit during showmanship can result in a rabbit kicking violently to get free. Rabbits have delicate bones and this kicking can break their vertebrae. The neck hold allows exhibitors to secure their rabbits while they present the underside of their rabbits to the judge. You can see how this exhibitor has practiced the neck hold and the rabbit remains relaxed.

  • is that a standard chin?

  • @b7u7g7 Yes, it's an American Chinchilla. Here is a link to the American Rabbit Breeder's Standard of Perfection if you want to know more about the breed:

  • My 4H is different. We don't have to say about feed and stuff

  • when you do the tail, you have to let go of it, ur not just checking for broken tail but rye or screw tail

  • Wow, that rabbit is so calm. How do you teach a rabbit to be so tame?

  • @joesingle To get a rabbit this calm, it takes a lot of patience and practice. You need to interact with and handle your rabbit daily. Because rabbits are prey animals, they tend to run at any sign of danger. To get your rabbits to feel comfortable with you, you need to allow them time to interact with you and realize you aren't a danger. Providing a safe and stable environment will help as well.

  • @4HLancasterNE Thanks! I am reading a lot about Rabbits, and I adore them. I am achieving some success with calmness and kindness-

    Beautiful animal

    Thanks for showing

  • @poitrenaud how do you keep your rabbit so tame???????????

  • my 4-h is diffrent

  • Why would we need to know your age?????

  • get the scruff lovey lovey rabbit

    :)

  • is FFA & 4H Showmanship the same? I am doing my breeding project on Californian Rabbits and I is going smoothly so i plan on taking a meat pen to fair...

  • @sooneybear 4-H and FFA rabbit showmanship is generally the same, but there can be technical differences in the way your presentation is scored and the timing allowed. It is best to locate a copy of both rule books and compare scoring values, expectations, etc. 4-H and FFA breed conformation and market rabbits are judged similarly, as well. 4-H and FFA contract judges that all have different opinions about what they look for in a breed, meat pen, etc.

  • yeah that it is way different then what i do.

  • nice cat you got there

  • @andygaras nice

  • When she said "matter" what was she refering to? How does this affect the rabbits health? Thanks!

  • @728missmag What she means by matter is mites in the ears or visible defects in the eyes. For ex. her eyes could have those slimy yellow things in the corners, and her ear will have black or brown crusty bits on them (the only way I can describe it lol).. I'm guessing that she also means that the eyes should not have any deformities, either. Source- I went to a livestock show today, and some rabbits had some of the defects I mentioned to you in this post :)

  • @728missmag The "matter" she was referring to is any eye or nasal discharge. These can be signs of illness in a rabbit.

  • Canadian showmanship in 4H is way different!

i should know, this is my 20nd year in showmanship ans won every time!

  • @AVcloverpatchkid I live in canada too, and your right, here it's WAY different, I've never seen someone do showmanship like this 0.0
