  • wow :)

  • this is my THEME SONG! absolutely! this is me.

  • May I assume Geldof is vegan?

I understand that this is art and not a policy proposal, but if governments fall, then there would hardly be any chance that we could impose any effective limits on overall rates of CO2 emissions, forest destruction, other forms of envmntl degradation, etc., not to mention a chance to create a policy that says industries will pay a fee -- proceeds going to all people -- when they take natural resources or pollute the air and water. Oops-hardly a chance of that now

  • This IS a political proposal. Some thing called sarcasm...in fact it tells you to care, to mind and to be aware of the blessings of having a voice and a vote.

It leads to the core problem of democracy, having a voice and not to use it for the right things, just because

    you dont care...

but never mind, i don't care at all...

  • @JohnChampagne In 1985 Bob Geldof almost single handedly created 'live aid' to raise millions of pounds to save people suffering from the ethiopian famine.

Afterwards, he recorded "The Great Song of Indiference" which is probably the most ironical song ever sang. Of course he cared very much and spent years trying to convince others that they should. But all that was about twentyfive years ago. Without knowing the background, it may not seem the same.

  • @mlawes1 When we respond to food shortages by sending boatloads of food rations, we make it harder for farmers in the affected area to sell their produce, thereby making farming less profitable. Fewer people will try to do farming. So food shortages in the future become more likely.

A better way would be to share natural resource wealth equally, so that everyone has at least a little money. In drought-affected regions, we could send more, so people can still buy food even as the price goes up.

  • @JohnChampagne We could also help developing farming in those countries.

  • A song of my childhood.... I am 13 <3 Some kids are still sane :3

  • Il top bellissima saluti dai monti abruzzesi!!!!

  • First heard this when I was Three years old me and my dad used to listen to it on his record player. The letters on the album cover used to make me laugh all the "Z"'s. 13 years later we still sit and listen to it. I don't think I could have had a better start into music. Thanks dad!

  • the lyrics are genius, and honestly i agree with him, I DONT GIVE A SHIT!

  • The interview with him in Norway recently, by Skavland; - I enjoyed a lot; but the presenter CUT HIM OFF, when he started to talk about his emotional life; his grieving and sorrows - which is VERY TYPICAL for NORWEGIAN presenters; CANNOT STAND - emotion and people who sob and cry.......but with present government, THE CALLUS PRIMER JENS STOLTENBERG, people are adopting to this INSENSITIVE stinking ditch RAT!!

  • God he's so fucking dreary.

  • @theeviljeremyoliver your right that's Sir Bob's trade mark he won't change now that's for sure

  • saw him perform this at live 8 in Edinburgh - brilliant

  • master piece!!

  • what kind of music is this?

  • Sir Bob = Sir Genius -daz in Oz

  • Has anyone found the flute part yet?

  • searched for an hour for the video for this...couldn't find it on any site, and the ones that came up in searches had been taken down by Universal Music. So it must be on their website? Nope. So it's not that they only want it shown on their terms, they just don't want it shown at all. How much money would Universal really lose by allowing free access to one 20-year old song the average joe has never heard of? This is why record companies are experiencing the slow, painful death they deserve.

  • @steakdiaper Let's hope it won't be the slow one though they do deserve it. I'd rather see them out quickly so they don't drag the whole civilization down.

  • @nothingness36 same thing here :p

  • anyone know where I can find the notes of the flute part at 2:43? I really wanna be able to play that!! but I can't find it, can anybody help me?

  • @Raven9260 i know what you're talking about, i want to play it so bad too, could you tell me when you found something?

  • @debilitasmentis Sure, I'll let you know :D You also let me know if you found something

  • i like this song it is underated as a song

  • this song represents all of us and our attitude towards other human beings. we don't care about other people at all

  • most people I know (including me) worry too much about everything - the environment, humanity, politics...I care too much, and I sometimes feel like I'm losing my mind due to all the sorrow. at least this song helps me to ACT like I didn't care for 4 min 36 sec.
