I don't believe any of these shows or channels are still running although some of the companies are still around and making similar shows I believe.

I think most of these shows and channels ended because of negative reporting from a phone hacking press.

I sent in a video to Panorama i recorded off my free-view telly box (on request) at times the producers of these shows would stage calls just to get the presenter to laugh (more) which they tried to mask by faking the delay, but at times would just not bother... these shows are still very popular in Europe.

Do you have any evidence of this? I know some similar shows at the time were very dodgy (Grab a Grand seemed to be the most blatant) but I think all the shows in these clips were above board.

@jeffrey44 hi, yes i do... had a quick look at one video and you can see/hear it, its a funny clip but suspect none the less, the question was easy and one person phone in with a silly answer "queen of love" which made the presenter laugh, then after some time joking about it another so called "caller" phones in with the same answer to great effect, everyones in hysterics, but the second call has a fake delay (to start with) which is then turned off as the caller reacts in real time

I can't remember what the answer was in the end (maybe someone else does, this was quite a long running puzzle) but they were quite obscure word(s). At the time of the TEAL answer, the puzzle was worth £70,000 so TEAL itself was not a bad guess. I only included that clip because I think the caller may have been a zombie.

That is refering to the clip with Emma Lee (starts at 2:24). "Please kill me" was refering to the caller, although he doesn't say that phrase, it sounds like he is in a lot of pain and the kind thing to do would be to put him out of his misery.
