I live about 10 miles from were the plan crashed and i remember my family from out of town was over nd my cousin was over nd had me go outside to get her camera and the sirens were so lous and there was just a light in the guy (from the fire) i had no idea what it was nd when i found out i couldnt believe it

i live less than a mile away from long street, about 5 minutes after the plane crashed, (my dads an investigator), he got called in to go investigate the scene and try to save people if they could find them ... wen he came home the next night he hugged me n told me how thankful he was to still have his family, this was so sad. i just got bak frum the 3407 fundraiser race... omg i cried. this was terrible :( R.I.P all victims... our good family friend lives right there and he was out side putting one his plow and the plane flew right over his house and hit the neighbors. he ran over to see that most of the people inside were dead and only some people in the back as well as the pilots were alive. at this point the fire was relatively small. by the time he ran back to get a ladder to rescue the pilots ( the noes of the plane was situated high off the ground) the fire had grown into a massive inferno. i live 7 miles away.

Yes, I heard the voice of Karen Wielinski, in a complete state of shock because a plane just crashed on top of her home.

You can clearly hear another woman ask if there was anyone inside, and she replied, "Yes, my husband!"

So I think that if you, GroundCover22, just lost your entire home and husband/wife in a sudden and horrific event such as this, you'd be "freaking out" too.

Nobody wants to die like this, but let me tell you, I think that this planes' pilots deserve the same credit as the hudson one, they've the bravest people ever, and I am sure they've fought to the end to save the passengers, but lost. RIP to the crew of 3407.

You can see some ice on the horizontal stabilizer. It was probably a tail stall from the amount of ice that was built up on the plane. NTSB says severe pitch and roll events when the plane went to landing flaps which is tell-tale of a tail stall due to ice.

As A Local fireman from the area, major props to the men and women of the Volunteer fire companies that kept a tragedy limited to the area of the crash. My prayers go out to the family of the man killed in the house and the passenegers and crew of flight 3407

There are no words that can express my feelings for all of those involved in this horrible and tragic event. I can only offer my sincerest condolonces.

While I appreciate the coverage of our local news teams, I wish that they would respect the families involved and leave them to mourn in peace. I am finding their actions truly disgusting!
