  • Slash is such a great guitar player, some people don't think so but i'd like to see them write a debuet album with the worldwide sucsess of Appetite for Destruction, only the biggest selling debuet album ever!

  • That guitar is sexy... and so is slash :D

  • Nice stuff, I love it. Watch for new music from BRANDON JAROD, awesome!

  • I cnt wait till the day i can get a lefty Gibson Les Paul.

  • @hondansx1000 SAME

  • lol I started to hear that drum line after reading comments :D

  • hes such a fucking cool dude

  • i had the same starting combo as slash

    sweet

  • whatever les paul he had was sexy

  • slash is the best

  • he recorded his libratad album with a les paul and some model of a vox amp.

  • vox ac30 to be excact

  • does anyone else find the drums in the background annoying!!! its distracting me from slash's words!!

  • yes and they get too loud sometimes

  • i fucking dO!

  • its killing me -.-

  • Gibson+Marshall+Slash = The Best !!!

  • i think they stopped cuz salsh had to answer his phone

  • he knows his shit!

  • hes cool

  • He uses Gibsons...

  • Why he should use Epiphone?

    HAHA!

  • C'est classe les Gitanes sur le Bluesbreaker !!

Au moins un Americain qui aime la France .

  • I think they cut the video cause the needed to answer his phone. And I think that I've heard on an other inderview that slash finally got an original Gibson Les Paul and then he recorded Appetite For Destruction.

  • afta he trys 2 say he got a les paul copy at 3:57 they cut out the word copy.. hmm i wonda y lol

  • in 3:53 he sais i have to answer his phone..

    i guess he did ...

  • and the rest is history.

  • that drum beat in the background is really annoying

  • i hate that music, i can´t hear what slash says.

  • i have this guitar that he have^^(sry for my bad english xD)

  • Wow, Slash and a Bluesbreaker? Weird.

  • Notice how he said that his producer (Mike Clink) gave him a les paul then it cut away quickly? I guess Gibson didnt want it be known that it was a les paul copy, that is Slash's favorite guitar....lol sly one guys in the editing booth!

  • i think they cut it bcause he said "thats my phone" so he had to answer...

  • when he said "ah thats my phone" my phone haha, it was so weird

  • 3:53

  • what?...

  • that's a weird looking marshall is it a really old one or summing

  • lol you can always depend on a marshall JCM and a gibson les paul

  • what kind of marshall is that?

  • Bluesbreaker

  • lol thats my phone

  • why did they cut out the part about his les paul copy? the derig. that must be Gibson's doing. he recorded all of Appetite on that les paul.

  • He recorded that album with a les paul copy, which he says is his fave guitar, theres a video where he talks about it on here i think!?

  • yes i know. his derrig copy. he mentions it in his book to.

  • Slash right now owns 2 Chris DeRRig Replica and one Max Baranet copy (this one was really expensive for Slash so he decided to remove all those cheramic parts and pick ups and bought it) where he puts different cheramic parts and a couple of Alnico II's 'cause sounded great on his early Derrig copy.

  • thats a gibson les paul, thats like all slash plays now.

  • Wow, very subtle video clipping there...

Marshall is the holy grail, haha Rock On Slash

    \m/

  • wat guitar is that in the video that looks sweet

  • its a custom shop les paul.

  • Yep, maybe we can call it the real FIRST Slash Signature model... Slash owned 3 of these guitars (one of them is gone) and there are OLNY 4 models in all the world of this really rare piece of gear. Don't know which colour is the fourth one.. but Slash had in his collection 2 red ones and this yellow one..

  • how the fuck is that even a showdown?!

  • It's because it's part of a contest where various players sent in a video of them doing a solo, then Slash picked his favourite and gave them a gguitar and amp. This is just a video from the contest's website of Slash explaining how he got where he is today. Hope that clears things up.

  • I find it funny how the part where he mentions his '59 Les Paul copy (The famous Derrig one) gets cut out because he's not allowed to speak of it. It's in his endorsment contract with Gibson. AND...it's just Fn' stupid.

  • Did anyone notice, whilst giving this a five star rating, that he didn't actually play anything? Sure he's over-rated but that's just rediculous. ;)

  • no he says my manager gave me..... oh thats my phone. next time lets listen before we put words in slashes mouth

  • theres like garage band drums in the background

  • haha when he sais my manager gave me ... uh and says wtf. hahaha

  • I luve slash alot!!!!!!!!!!!

  • funny how the video is cut just after saying " les paul..." he was about to say copy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but Gibson wont let him say that lol

  • this Hi hat gimmick drives me crazy.. be quiet for fuck sake lol

  • i loove his guitar!

  • ultimate poker face

  • slash is awesome and a shred classic!!!

  • fuck u retarded

  • Lol now I feel less humiliated by my Epiphone Special II. Yay for cappy Les Paul clones!

  • i got an Epiphone Special II aswell, go copy!

  • special II sounds very good for that price!

  • wait his favourite guitar is a copy made by a craftman known as MAX and these are considered better than Gibsons les paul... copy doesn't necessarily mean worse

  • Um, no - it was made by the late Jim Derrig. Slash may have a MAX but it wasn't the one used on AFD.

  • Umh, well... Slash used them both though... Alan Niven gave him the Derrig (his favourite guitar) and he was in contact with Max Baranet at the same time... Slash removed the original pups 'cause he played the Derrig copy thru a Marshall JMP and he liked the tone so much that he prefered to have the same pups on the Max too...

  • yep but in SLashes book he says that it's a Jim Foote

  • Nope! There are a lots of mistake in that book and I can guarantee it. Alan Niven was in CONTACT with Jim Foote and Jim introduced CHRIS DERRIG to him, and Alan gave that LP Replica to Slash.

  • interesting....a lot of mistakes...i think maybe, JUST MAYBE slash knows a little bit more about his own rig than you do.

  • I wish that music in the backround would stfu

  • rofl

  • Can you still win?????

  • just shows ya they all start out as skint musicians

doesnt make me feel so bad anymore!!

slash himself has had crappy replicas

  • well no shit, u gota work ur way up.. that way u appreciate urself more. ;]

  • nice use of the word skint, no sarcasm

  • It's funny that they cut out the part where he says the guitar he used on AFD was a Les Paul "copy." @ 3:57

  • haha, yeah, it goes aahh les paul (jump) in a store called music works

  • i would so enter this contest

but my damn electric guitar broke

hopefully get new one in time

  • I really like the look of that Gibson Slash has got on his lap, what type of LP is that?

  • i think its a 59 slash custom with a faded wood finish, not sure though because he does not usually have that finish...

  • I found out, that it is one of his new Slash signature LP's, beautiful guitar!!!

  • no, it's not his new slash signature. It's actually a Slash Customshop Les Paul, only four were made. Watch my video of slash guitars and pause att 00:44. it's the second one from the left

  • No it's not. Thats one of his Gibson Les Paul custom shop guitars. Only 4 were made and slash owns 3. They were made especally for slash and they have slash signature skull on the truss rod cover. You can see 3 of them in my video of slash guitars around 00:44. It's 2 red and one yellow/orange (the one in this video)

  • that's his Gibson Les Paul custom shop, there were only 4 made and slash owns 3 of them, you can see them in my video of slash guitar, pause at 00:44. it's 2 red ones and one yellow/orange (the one in this video). I'm currently making a part 2 of my slash guitars video, it features a couple of more shots of his custom shop guitars!

  • endaa.. xD

  • im lucky enough to have my marshall(jcm2000tsl 100w head) and les paul, although my les paul is a japanese tokai, which i actually prefer to the gibsons,,, i went out to buy a gibson, and i spotted the tokais, which were a few 100 cheaper and looked just as good, so i tried them out and thought that it sounded and played better than the gibson that i originally wanted.. so i bought the tokai!!!

  • in fact you should buy a n epiphone standard or custom threre is a good difference in price and its almost the same sound and the thingh everibody is compaining about a les paul is the weight, epiphone les paul's are lighter than gibsons

  • I've owned several Epiphones, and not one of them even comes close to the playability of a Japanese built Tokai.

Don't get me wrong, once I got my Epiphones setup they were nice enough guitars, but like I said, I went out that day I bought my Tokai, with every intention of taking home the flametop Gibson LP standard that was hanging on the wall, but i seen these Japanese Tokais for a good few £100 cheaper than the Gibo so I tested the Tokai against the Gibson and it won hands down!

  • it really depend of how did you felt the tokai personaly i love the les paul for its sustain and harmonics responce but what i dont like is that it isnt pretty good made you know like set up and those things but i really like my les paul

  • You have lost me now!!!

Are you trying to say that Tokais are not setup well?

If so then I am figuring that you have either never played a tokai les paul, or if you have it was a korean built one and not japanese built, the construction of my japanese tokai is way better than any of todays gibsons, Tokai company use the specifications of the Original 59 Gibson Les Pauls to build their guitars, they even use a long neck tenon whereas gibson only use that in their Historic series guitars

  • i was talking about the gibson's les paul

  • Oh, well, anyway, when I went out to get my new guitar, I was setout to buy the Gibson Flametop 2002 LP, but when I got to the store, Ispotted the tokai LP copys for several £100 Cheaper, and they looked nicer to, So I decided to try them out and compare it to the Gibson that I was going to buy, I also tested a Gibson LP custom, and the tokai felt and sounded better than both the Gibsons, So I got the Tokai, and saved myself several 100 in the process,,

  • The only good thing that gibson produce these days are the guitars that come out of the Custom and Historic work shop, everything else they produce these days are mass produced rubbish, and all you are paying for is the Gibson logo on the headstock...

Also, all the stuff out of the C&H workshop is WAY overpriced, I would rather have a japanese replica over any gibson, unless it was an original 59 les paul!!!

  • What is the entry deadline for the contest?
