  • Composer?

  • @witness124 the composer is John Corigliano

  • Brilliant opera, and brilliant performance

  • In the current OTSL performance, Feigum (sorry, sp?) gives a more poignant performance in the part of the aria where he's naming the stars. The contrast in emotion is much bigger in his performance. Really wish OTSL would record some of the operas they do.

  • Apologies. I had made a comment and didn't think it was posted, so I removed the second almost-identical one about Gino Quilico's brilliance!

  • Gino Quilico is incomparable as Figaro in GHOSTS. Few baritones could create such a beautiful sound while tossing off a patter song or singing on a rope lifted toward the rafters. I wish there was a dvd of this opera; I have lost my old video. Thanks for posting this fabulous clip. Gino Quilico isn't singing in New York much these days, and I miss him.

  • I think there is a DVD. We watched this opera in a class I took a couple of semesters ago, and I think we watched it on DVD although it's possible it was VHS.
