@bribriskyrocks08 Well, to be fair, given the blast radius, it's certain he would have still died if he threw it anyways.  And if he threw it sooner and then ran, the others might have died. As far as Charlie, yeah, he could have easily avoided his fate, but, well, he realized it WAS his fate to die.

Its pretty shit, irrational, and unexplainable how they managed to kill off 3 main characters (Sayed, Jin, and Sun) in a matter of .......5 minutes.

Knowing that half the series (6 years) revolved around those 3

The bomb wouldn't have killed them But because sawyer pulled the wires it technically wasn't MIB killing them, it was Sawyer, so it exploded

I hated that he died! I actually hated when most of the people died. I wasn't really upset when Shannon and Libby died but the reactions of Sayid and Hurley made me cry. =( I bawled when everyone else died though, except for Ana Lucia. She really really left a bad taste in my mouth.

The purpose of killing Sayid, Jin, and Sun off was because the writers were worried MIB would look like a lousy villain if he didn't kill atleast half the Candidates.

@canucksroc98: I think Jacob "Rules" are evident. If MIB would kill one of the candidates he was going to cause a chain of events that would have led to his extermination. Candidates also served a purpose of a "loophole" that would have killed off MIB. So MIB was in a very difficult position, caused by Jacob(probably he figured out an "equation" compiled by people with the result the end of MIB), so his only way out was to make the candidates kill each other.
