  • We have to work in same room office, same table.

  • ...and it'll be gone in four months.

  • Wave concept lives on!

  • Wow, I would have used it if I would have known what it is, too bad I just found out about it through an email google sent me that it's going to be shutting down google wave. Their marketing is crap!

  • @motofile Totally agree, their marketing is crap! Same thing for google buzz, google checkout, and more, Idk why.

  • Well, i don't think this is toooo awesome but can be good in some situations. But whatever there will not be Google Wave anymore.

  • No idea, luckily it's being axed.. Wave goodbye

  • give the guy an invite

  • I'm still in the dark as to what Google Wave is,Am i really the only G Wave dummy out here?

  • Oni's voice will be as thunder

  • Like your sense of humor and presentation & wish you did get that invite ...

  • God i'm addicted to you

  • My friend's dad is the guy who invented Email. He's an odd ball but a nice guy, lol. The email is great!

  • @TheUnknowPainted yeah right

  • @22Videogameaddict yes he is :L

  • LOL, google wave.

  • But who using Google Wave now?

  • @SenorNerd exactly, it never went big

  • PULP FICTION

  • nice video i liked it

  • i wonder if there paid for this...

  • @mackers0071 We weren't paid for this video, but for many of our other ones we were. Soon we'll have two channels, one for paid ads and one for our own pieces. For now, you can see both in our uploads.

  • I would have loved this....

Oh well, Google-great at ideas, bad at execution.

  • damm i would have used it :/

  • I found this to be very helpful, useful, and ahead of its time when it was announced two years ago. It's sad to see that it didn't catch on and ended up being a flop.

  • I think Google Wave's main problem was its interface. The concept was nice, but the pages were all clusterfucks with poorly organized features.

  • @Lazy0Waffle Maybe, But Google's ultimate problem is lack of Marketing. If Google marketed its products better then as the consumer base grows Google can take more and more feedback and refine the service they are creating.

Google likes to take the path of: "We will tell a few guys, and they will tell everyone else!" This works great for Products, but Google is selling a service more than a product. For a service to be successful you need to sell it to new and even existing customers.

  • is thére any invitation here ?

  • that is good imaging and explanation! can you give a guided tour with Google Health?

  • Sounds good. I wonder why this didn't catch on.

  • /watch?v=KUptSxmgaUU

  • Such a pity they pulled the plug on wave. I really miss it :(

  • So it's kind of like a more advanced version of Google Docs?

  • Such a shame it was discontinued. I mean, you can still use it, but damn it, it is so much better than crappy emails for organising things. I think the reason it failed was because you needed to invite people, so the general public didn't really latch onto it, like facebook was. If people knew of it's simplicity and great way for communicating and organising things, then it would be used more often.

  • How do you make an animation like this?

  • Still dont understand it. Its just like chat or something?

  • April Fools

  • Another advantage of email over "Google Wave", as I understand it:

With email you can have a list where conversation is going on among many people, but the people on that list can also have private side conversations with each other -- either because they wish privacy, or because it simply isn't worth taking up the time of everyone on the list with what they're discussing.

With GW, it sounds like all the only option is "reply all". Or perhaps it just wasn't explained well enough here.

  • @StarchildSF "it sounds like" is the key. There is no advantage that email has over GW, appart that everyne has it already.

Google wave has so much more than what that video explains. Yes, you could have "private side-conversations" nested in a conversation if you wanted.

  • The problem with this is the "hosted" aspect. It puts too much control in the hands of whatever organization (e.g. Google) may be hosting the data.

With email, people are communicating among their own personal computers or mobile devices. Although some websites host email, you can also use your own email software which you own and control, giving you have a greater guarantee of privacy and security.

As I understand "Google Wave", communication would be all web-based, i.e. less private/secure.

  • @StarchildSF You can host in on your own server.

  • Tsk, I only learn of this exceptional idea's existence by the news that it has been buried.

  • with multiple sign-in and making it available to google apps website.. may just bring it back from it's coffin.. it can actually be productive for offices, colleges and schools!

  • Sounds more like a forum. I don't think it was advertised enough.

  • Free-Ipad.tv

  • Awesome vid. Google Wave rocks, btw.

  • Wtf ever, google this!

  • how do u make ur vids

    i mean the animation?

  • There is a new Advertising Platform made by YAHOO! You get paid by viewing commercials or organizing followers. Here is the link to check it: rightmediaptc(.)com/index(.)php?Refferer=spraif

  • sounds like skype

  • internet exists 40 years,, email 38 years* not 40...

  • how come i've never heard of it?

  • @Snowspring09

Well it wasn't a sucess when it was launched so Google gave it up pretty quickly.

  • Everyone! Google Wave isn't dead! It just won't be by Google anymore!

  • There are 2 reasons y I can't grab... whatever u just said, 1, I don't have one, and 2, i'm only 13 lol.

  • 90 people found this and use yahoo

  • If I understand right, Google Wave is the mess my boss already does on Gmail, and I just want to kill her!! Because I dont want to read all that thing that does not concerns me!! She sends email to everybody, even if only one person is supposed to read it. And repply what you send to her to everyone else, you need to pay attention to not write anything private to her. I dont get why do I need Google Wave anyway... I would like Youtube were better, thats for sure.

  • Thumbs up if you typed what we are bored

  • im having an google wave-account

    LOL!

  • Asian marriage **busizz4me.info**

  • i dont think me being high is inhibiting any ability to absorb this infomation and form it into a cohesive idea. seriously, wtf is this guy talking about.

  • @mattakudesu Nobody knows, that's why google wave was an epic fail ;)

  • Wow everybody was so excited....hahahahahaha

  • Cute and gives the big picture idea.

  • I used google wave, it always crashes, i was one of the first people to use it

    dont like it - YET!!

    hope they keep improving it!

  • I think goole wave is awesome!!! Been using it to plan a short film that my friends and i are gonna shoot.

It make it so much easier to pass information around!!!! Rather then i have to wait for my friend to finish writing her outline, story, location that she wants to shoot at. And having to pass my notes or her notes through email or in person with a bunch of papers or notebooks. I could just logon to wave and check out anytime, how is the story going or if it's done!!!

    THANKS WAVE!!!

  • did you get an invite :D ?

  • wait....so google "google" u know..mad such a "fabulous" program that has you posting things on a page...other people can see it immediatelly if they r online to thier computer or whatever..and others can see it too?? wait so like a forum? or a chat room? its already been made, and you know, both of those have been made, and you can get them free!!! amazing right?

  • I don't think it's dead. It's still useful, actually.

  • what is google wave? it's fucking DEAD..RIP, you fuck!

  • @siliconsurf It's to early for its time.

  • RiP

  • Damn it, all they need to do is add it to gmail. So when you 'email' another gmail account it gives you the option to wave instead. BANG, people would get used to it without expecting people to use a completely seperate system (THAT killed it)

AT LEAST add it to google docs as just another doc type. Standarise the gui and it'll be a hit.

  • too bad, wave had good potential but it wasn't very practical.

  • Google wave is dead google it

  • This is off topic but it seams like Google is one of the only companies who arent evil or run by a money grubbing Satan in a coat and tie XD

  • @slaid12345 Google and Kevin Butler from PS3

  • @sunshine777888 Forgot about him!

  • Some commenters obviously have never tried it. It's not like any old forum or instant messenger, it combines the best of all these tools we're used to using, and makes it extremely organized. I use it a lot for business meeting type things, and online discussions before face-to-face meetings.

  • A much better explanation for those who's not a tech head.

  • durr hurr it's a forum

  • that was a good explanation .. better than the one on the welcome-wave posted there .. thanks - nicely done too (thumb up)

  • @MrGillykins yeh and facebook private messages when you send to more than one person at same time lmao

  • How did we have E-mail 40 years ago if the internet only existed for 20? I'm not doubting it did, but how did it work?

  • @supersmashermeta internet was invented in the 60's and was already used to send e-mails. Never confuse Internet and the Web! ;)

    Greetings

  • @supersmashermeta 1) Because the internet has existed for more than 20 years. 2) Email doesn't require internet. It just requires a connection between computers (intranet).

  • bravo

  • hey haven't you got an invite yet?? dude... I'll be happy to invite u.. same goes for anyone else.. just message me..

  • But despite these wins, and numerous loyal fans, Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked. We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.

  • Im using almost all of google services, including google apps and this is first time i ever hear about google wave. perhaps better advertising was in order?

  • nice video :P good animating and stuff

  • I never understood Wave completely, to be honest I got an Invite and tried to use it but it just wants to make something that you can do with other tools, to be honest it is easier to comprehend and teach other people how to use a shared google document or Office Live document than try to explain the mess wave is, cool idea but I think the execution of it was bad, and what's with google doing this extremely heavy ajax sites? instead of making things simpler they make them complicated

  • Video Chat!

  • @JollyFootPrint just like skype :D

  • Google Wave actually seems pretty cool. They just need to tweak it a bit. I don't know why you guys are bashing on it so much..

  • LOL google wave is DOWN i repeat GOOGLE WAve is down due to a lack of users ..

  • where is the 96.5% of google wave? thanks

  • so its just like msn or aim or skype?

  • What is Google wave?

Another failed google product, that nobody gave a shit about!!!!

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Google wave is stopping!! :( end of the jear the servie will fall down

  • how you make that animation

  • RIP D:

  • @TheLxSx Actually, it's back up! (for the rest of the year, at least)

  • Make a stand youtubers: doubleudoubleudoubleudot savegooglewave dotcom

  • R I P

  • RiP?

  • google wave was so innovative that ppl were afraid to adopt it. that always happens...

  • It sounds like a...chat program o.o

  • What is Google Wave? dead is what it is.

  • RIP ;(

  • RIP ...

  • RIP:(

  • Yeah, too bad it never even delivered 1% then.

  • I see that Google is killing the Wave product today. Hopefully they'll roll those kickass functions into Buzz &/or Docs.

  • RIP :-(

  • RIP Google Wave! I hardly knew ye!

  • @staypaidtre829 Yeah.

  • Comment removed

  • @staypaidtre829

Agreed, it has too much potential do die! Someone designed a neat and simple little website to help google understand this: savegooglewave . com

  • @staypaidtre829 why rip?

  • @staypaidtre829 Google Wave is still live under Google Labs. It's not one of their frontline products (yet).

  • Well this thing sure took off...

  • Google wave is dead. Foolish program.

  • Did you get an invite , epipheo ?

  • Unfortunantly i dont think that this can replace email in the near future, in that case more people must start hosting, not just google,

  • Could everyone stop saying "i was like," and "then he was like?"

    It is not English!

  • Email might be 40 years old, but at least me or anyone can download an email server and run it on OUR computer.

You don't see that with google wave, since this is just a product designed at expanding google's monopoly.

And with this upcoming ACTA agreement to monitor & control the internet, guess who's gonna want to be your biggest friend and store as many emails, communications and website visits as possible on THEIR computers?

  • google... STOP RETHINKING SHIT

  • Google wave is a great alternative for organizations where people "reply all" to the most mundane comments.

  • If you said that it's better than email, then why is Gmail still there? Will Wave actually replace Gmail or something?

  • Message me for an invite I got 25

  • lol nice

  • nice

  • Share your likes at iflikes.com Share websites, share youtube videos and pictures All in one place

  • nice

  • nice

  • Hahaha i love this video.

    SIMPLE.

  • But, dont the people you want to share your things with need to have google wave ALSO, if so, IT SUX

  • I'll invite you :)

But someone else probably already has...

  • you open me up to many new technoalgy

  • I hate facefuck with a passion

  • 1) Facebook will never be replaced

    2) Only those with Google accounts can use it. I mean, what if someone doesn't have GMail, doesn't want GMail, and has no plans on getting GMail? No wave for them, which would still necessitate email. On top of this, no one I know uses this.

    3) Waves don't go away. It's not like you can delete them.

    4) It's been a year, and no one has even noticed. Mainstream it is not.

    5) For people too lazy to find the nearest boardroom/living room/telephone.

  • @SpartanMen 1) They said the same thing about MySpace

    2) That's why you use Yahoo! Messenger

    3) Deal with it. It's the same thing with FaceBook

4)Then why is Google still offering it?

    5) What is this? The 80's?

Think before you speak, fellow anon

  • Sorry, but I still prefer email. This will never be a replacement for email. But it does have its advantages for certain situations.

  • google facebook?

  • its open for everyone, but if you don't really know how to get it, i will send an invitation. pm me with your email.

  • kinda like facebook...

  • Google Wave is now open for everyone. I would have been more interested if it was open 10 months ago.

  • this video made wave sound good, but his writing made me want to completely avoid wave by all means.... idk. I might try it, just to laugh at all the things he mentioned. Or I might just like it.

  • @Neuromancer1970 Yeah, that's basically it.

  • Google Wave really is incredible

  • Google wave is now OPEN for EVERYONE!

  • nice........

  • Good Innovation and Video....

  • Nice video.

  • LOL This is funny and more informative than the 80 min vid by google! :))

  • @whitescape true. i didn't understand a thing about wave concept until i saw this video, great job epipheo

  • Comment removed
