don't get me wrong it makes for a great story, but it does rely on dahlia being dumb as a brick, the survival of the fawles frameup with the river was just pure luck, after all.

dahlia was pretending to be iris, from the 5 psyche lock scenario onwards, but both when she was pretending to be iris, and admitting to be dahlia and boasting she made maya commit suicide and cannot be punished, she was being channelled by maya, who has black hair, so the result was dahlia, with black hair, just like iris.

What makes Dahlia such an effective villain is how utterly repulsive she is.

Other people like Manfred von Karma, Damon Gant, etc. are rotten but they have a distinct dignified air about them and they're fun enough that you can sometimes forget that they're bad people.

Dahlia however is just a truly nasty, awful person who has absolutely no redeeming traits whatsoever, committing the worst crimes in the series for the pettiest reasons. There's something truly vile about people like that.

Gavin is similar to many of Phoenix Wright's most difficult antagonists. Gavin's personality and emotions can be compared to those of Manfred von Karma to an extent, while his initially collected and seemingly positive demeanor can be compared to Dahlia Hawthorne's facade of beauty, which, like her's, ultimately collapsed when he knew he had been bested. His typical calm and friendly demeanor that he displays, even when accused of murder, can be compared to that of Damon Gant.

Everyone hates her because she is a ruthless and just hateful killer from the third Phoenix Wright game. If you enjoy mysteries and you have a DS, I recommend you try to get the game or watch videos of the cases online. It's quite amazing.
