There was nothing wrong with what this mother did. This was not a spoiled kid wanting to get a frivolous tattoo. In other cultures infants are tattooed and pierced (ears, nose, lips...etc). Our government needs to learn when to butt the fuck out of our personal lives and choices.

As a tattoo artist I feel that the child was too young to get a tattoo and should have waited; but in the same since I understand were the mom is comin from. Im orinally from va and it is 16 with parents consent to get a tattoo.

It is a big deal when a parent is not acting like a parent to a child and is not looking after his best interest and it is the Authorities business to investigate when they feel a child is not being looked after properly. @harlemcasino Well we are all grown adults and can have are own opinions. I actually study into culture and tribes, different societies so I guess I'm more open minded. I just think that the gov needs to tell us on how to do EVERYTHING for our kids. The tatoo really sounds like a family decision we should but out off. And like I said it was done by a professional and not some homemade machine. It didn't even hurt that bad. but to each his own.

Even if I didn't know about the law (which I didn't until I watched this video) I would've made him wait until he got older to get a tattoo like that. He's only 10, and no where near done growing yet. There's no telling how that tattoo will look in the future. I guess it's more "thinkable" to me if the tattoo would have been a lot smaller, but that was a huge tattoo there..

It is a big deal when a parent is not acting like a parent to a child and is not looking after his best interest and it is the Authorities business to investigate when they feel a child is not being looked after properly. It's actually in their job description. So, yea, it is absolutely their business. Do I agree with children getting a tattoo? no, not that young (and fyi I have two tattoos I got one when I was 16 and another when I was 17 both on my back). For all you people saying sure its ok for a 10 year old to get a tattoo, think about this. The tattoo is on his arm, he is 10, his arm is going to grow (Logically) and thus the tattoo is going to stretch both vertically and horizontally. Its not going to end up being the same tattoo anymore. He should have waited.

Law is the law, whether we agree or not. It's what keeps people in order or chaos would occur. I know in TX, under 18 is illegal, even with adult consent. Now, if a minor has a gang related tat or profanity, they can get it tatooed over, but other than that, NO. Problem with today's parents is they are wanting to be a child's friend, not a parent. Children need discipline. The media doesn't help one bit either. We need back to basics and stop helping our kids grow up too fast!
