If you watch this next to Clash of the Titans their very similar.

I wish this was as long as Lord of the Rings. Like the director's cut of Troy or something.

You know Denmark only have one moutain, and it's no more than a little over a 100 meters high. In this film there are mountains and cliffs everywhere. Pluss there's a in the scene with the burning bridge, well there wasn't any bridges like that before the renaissance. That's like 700 years later. Plus there was no christianity in Denmark whatsoever before the year 800. When the movie takes place, aprox. year 500, it had hardy even stated to grow in it's counrty of origin, Rome (Italy today).

I am absolutely disturbed by the immense liberties Hollywood took while making this movie.

It's so far from the poem that it shouldn't even be called Beowulf.

Here comes the exact objective of film : an attempt to stage a possible version

If you think about it Grendel was a real "pussy". He whined when he broke open the door the second time and hurt his hand ( was holding it). Then he gets his arm ripped off and he "dies" from it. How many times have you seen Warriors with arms or legs ripped off and they keep going and live to tell about it ?..lol. But in all seriousness I do have one question about the movie. Why did the fire they had going change colors and intensify when Grendel appeared in the great hall ?

The movie was a lot different from the original story/poem.. but it was awesome nonetheless :D!! And in the story Grendel doesn't speak at all, but I love the fact that he speaks Old English in the movie.. it gives the movie an authentic 'feel' IMO :)
