@gpower88 I agree with you. It's a shame really for Honda to end the production of this car. It's such a good base that even for the Spoon car's case, with a relatively modest 420ps, it performs even better than the much praised R35 GT-R (and it's tuned and beefed up by Mine's) I think that just by simply bumping up the power of the NSX-R from 280 to somewhere between 350-400ps should have already kept it in the supercar performance levels. What a car !!!!
@Douglas6250 i dont know what honda is thinking of by end their "racecar" products line nsx and s2000! its sad! i hope they make something sporty in 2011
Much respect to Mr. Ichishima-san for speaking English as this is a difficult language to learn from an Asian perspective. He's really trying to better it.
The Spoon NSX-R GT is amazing. It's up there with Mine's GTR and RE Amemiya's top FD3S's.
no the spoon nsx is actually faster than the mines r35, ther is a video racing them. and although the r35 wins its because they switched drivers... the nsx put up the fastest lap time
I wasn't implying one better than the other, mate. There both top machines and by the sound of your response, I can tell you hate on GTR's. Do you own a Honda? I love the lot of 'em, but can't stand all of the favoritism in petrolheadland. If the car is tits, then praise it for its attributes and appreciate it for its faults.
The carbon snorkel air intake mid hatch and front aerodynamic spoiler and bigger side intakes came with the car and it was like $100.000 USD haha Spoon made theres rarer with a HKS turbine its on youtube gtchannel it versed the Mines R35
now there were 5 originals right? But, at the Spoons the same as the original car, or are they modified standard NSX-R's with the snorkel scoop and other accessories?
The NSX-R is the first Spoon boosted VTEC power house. It is the most efficient way of adding power to the NSX, unless you have 3.5 SuperGT NSX motor in your garage.
Mane i just love the sound of that turbo! and i feel bad for Ichisima that is not able to speak the english right, i guess im gonna have to contact him and be his interpreter Lol!
Both Tyler McQuarrie and Billy Johnson were the drivers of the Spoon NSX-R GT and the FX Motorsports Development FX750 NSX (Previously: Factor X) in that video.
even though Honda scrapped the NSX's blue prints, everyone knows, lots of tuners, racers, race car drivers likes the performance of NSX. it is expensive but if Honda know better how to play the pricing, they probably could still non-massively produce a new NSX based on old chassis without losing money and having it being everyones car because too cheap.
so like make it a supercar but buy-able. that'll be awesome!
why are you guys just NOW uploading this video? this has to be incredibly old considering Tyler is wearing Hancook colors and not Falken colors like he's supposed to.
the spoon Honda NSX is a real balanced car....what more do u expect from spoon! and the Factor X NSX is a great track car....i can see why the NSX is becoming a popular race car....it can be tuned to suit all!!!
uh no, its not. the NSX is done. it went out of production in 2005.
the NSX successor that you have been hearing about somewhat recently was thrown into the trash because of budget issues that Honda is having. also, it wasn't going to be called an NSX, but yet an NSX replacement.
you sir, need to stop talking like you know everything.
they don't need to make there own turbo's, thats expensive, there are so many turbo's out there and size's that there is really no reason for them to make there own brand. they could rebrand them like HKS does (there just garrett turbo's) but really there's no point.
FF Turbo cars are kind of useless on the track, you really can't put more then 250 HP down. more then that and you'll get massive amounts of understeer. The other thing is that Spoon is much more know'n for it N/A cars then it is for turbo's. the reason why they turbo the NSX, is to get that kind of power out of it with out a turbo cost $20,000+
I used to work at the worlds largest private auto auction and drove a few NSX's. Might not be the most powerful car i ever drove (Dodge Viper) or most elegant (Rolls Royce) but, its still my FAV car in the world. =]
Im not talking about the GT im talking about the Type-R in japan its coming to the US.The US Type R will get a horsepower boost over the JDM's 220 hp and limited-slip diff, along with similar suspension and appearance mods look for it in 2010
i think the one that is "not going to be produced" is the newest one, the front engine rear wheel drive concept. and it is still a concept. if i'm not wrong.. but if the Spoon coming in US as a new car from dealership, life will be more fun!
so the na1/na2 chassis is still being produced, thats good to hear! the car has such a balanced handleing characteristic... just look at how much steering imput it takes when tsuychia(sorry if spelled wrong) drives his type r around a course
I think now is that finding that middle mark somewhere in between the Spoon and Factor X would be the NSX to have for everyday driving/track day terror to those so call "Ultimate driving machine" or those "No subsitute" cars
Its kinda hard to compare the 3 because The NSX-R GT is still based on the JDM NSX-R platform. The Factory X car and the Stock model were both based on the USDM Acura NSX-S models. They should have just had Spoon & Factory X talking about their respective cars to compare and contrast the two.
